  1. Thanks Ron. Also managed to see the moon / venus together earlier this week. Lovely image even on a mobile phone which is all I had at the time
  2. Very sharp and clear. Same scope as me. It doesn't do a bad job at all on the moon. Trevor
  3. Nice images. Lots of detail. Trevor
  4. A few more shots form last night using a x2 barlow. Seeing was not brilliant but pleased with some of the detail. Perhaps more steady tonight !
  5. Looks like several of us were out there last night ! A change to get some clear skies. Taken using an ED120 and imaging source camera.
  6. I agree. The third shots the best. A couple more here for the record. Trevor
  7. Look forward to your opinions. I've been well impressed. Seeing wasn't that brilliant for these and I was so keen to get a shot I didn't allow for cooling but pleased with the detail. I'm hopeful for better on a good night ! Trevor
  8. Thanks for the comments. Surprised with the detail because the seeing didn’t seem that good
  9. Quite pleased with the detail in these. Taken last night with A Skywatcher ED150 and x2 barlow.
  10. Lovely shots. Lots of detail and well processed
  11. I have a 120ED . Great scope for imaging. Well done
  12. Taken last night. I wanted to show up the rays from Tycho so PS helped a bit !. Taken with an imaging source camera through a SW ED150
  13. Loads of detail there. Well done
  14. Seeing has been better but I'm well pleased with the detail. Always a nervous time with a new scope but pleased to say all looks very well.
  15. Thanks . Yes the camera is modded. I find the ED100 very versatile. I used the dedicated SW reducer this time but have successfully used an f6.3 sct reducer in the past. That speeds things up a treat.
  16. Thanks for the comments. I bet there was a many a telescope pointing at Orion on Saturday . It’s such a magnet and we must keep an eye on Betelgeuse of course. Now that would be a picture !!
  17. Taken Saturday evening through a skywatcher ED100 and canon 1000D. The focal reducer throws up some star rays but hey - ho, nothings perfect. Pleased with the detail around the horsehead. 21 x 4 min subs.
  18. Thanks. Original is 128Mb and more detailed but not suitable to upload. It was a bit of a test for the cameras and both seem fine. Always a worry with new gear until you’ve used it.
  19. Quite pleased with the skywatcher ED72. I'm Ok with the slight purple fringing but I know others are not. This was taken with two Altair 183's , one colour , one mono. The colour was only 13 x 2 min exposures and the mono was 12 x 4 min exposures. Combined in PS. All good fun. Trevor
  20. Looks very good to me even close up. I’d be very pleased with that Carole
  21. Nice crescent this evening but low down and fairly poor seeing. ED100 scope taken with imaging source camera. Mosaic of 6 images at prime focus. Nice to see some clear skies at last !!!
  22. Thanks Geordie. I’ll have another go. Quite pleased with the camera. This is 37 x 135 sec subs all unguided on an HEQ5. A lot less noise than my dslr
  23. First light here with an Altair 183C on an ed72. I'm not totally happy with the way I've processed the colour but pleased with the amount of detail the camera is picking up . the initial image was VERY green and I'm wondering if I have the the correct settings in Altair Capture and DSS. if any one has any experience of either I'd like to know. Thanks if you do ! Trevor
  24. Thanks Vlaiv. That should help a lot. Much appreciated. Trevor
  25. I recently purchased an Altair 138C camera. Seems to work very well and impressed with the detail in the images. I cannot however seem to stack these without the results being seriously GREEN !. I've saved using altair capture as fits and used dss to stack. I've opened the "RAW FITS" dialogue and changed to RGGB but to no avail. I guess I'm missing something here but after many attempts I'm going no where. Any help greatly appreciated. Trevor
