  1. I just noticed...

Thank you so much, you mods are awesome!

It took a much higher authority to do it - It came out of the BLUE... but your welcome...

    ;) ;)

    Here's one for "posterity"....

  2. AFAIK there's no need for Critical alignment between the Guide scope and the imaging scope.. infact you might have to deliberately move the guidescope to find a guidestar - although with a decent sensitive guidecam you very rarely need to...

What is important is that there should be no relative movement between the two during a run.....

    Peter...

  3. lol no one is that unlucky :(

Looking around for prices on the auto/piped extinguishers for cars and got a shock to say the least..:)

Found this though, ideal for a closed obsy

Automatic FE36 fire extinguisher | 1kg auto halon replacement

Also do power ones a bit cheaper.. wouldn't like to see the mess it'd make though :)

    Doing soem "iffy" maths...

An 8'x6' obs is "roughly" 8 Cubic meters volume so you would need at least 5 of the extinguishers.. or one with 5-6kg capacity

They are for confined spaces... engine bays , equipment cabinets etc...

    Sorry ... ;)

    Peter...

  4. If you mount it on a wedge and use it in EQ mode then it's possible...

If you fancy a bit of DIY... have a look at this thread...

And some "plans" that I drew up a while back .. they need "Tweaking" for your viewing locations Latitude

  5. I haven't a clue what I'm doing!

I am new to astronomy and would very much appreciate advice on what telescope I should purchase...

Hi Twinkles welcome to SGL.. more people are likely to see your question if you post it help and advice section... Thsi part of the forum is where peopel express there views on the forum and tenbds not to get read that often by most members...

Give an idea of the budget and I am sure you will get plenty of advice :)

Perhaps one of the mods would move or copy the post for you

    Billy....
