  1. It is pretty amazing - But I guess If it's properly balanced it's surprising what you can do... The larger Canon L Series lenses and Pro bodies tend to be pretty well balanced when mounted using the tripod collars... Peter...
  2. +1000 for Making Every Photon Count... the best £19.95 you will spend on your journey into Astrophotography....Will save you a fortune in the long run if you decide it's for you....... Peter....
  3. I started of with it's smaller brother the ETX 105... the optics are quite nice and will give really nice lunar and planetary views , but the the long FL and slow focal ratio coupled with a mount that doesn't like much weight being hung of the back of it makes them less than ideal for DSLR imaging... Ronin's post saved me a lot of typing... What tripod have you got for it... IIRC the #884 Deluxe allows you the scope to be used in both Alt/Az and EQ modes ... By far and away the best concentrated "reource" site for the ETX scopes is Mike Weasner's Mighty ETX Site http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html just take any advice by a enthusiastic Welshman with a pinch of salt - Twas I .... Peter...
  4. That would be worth of a Knobbly Peace Pipe if he could do it... I guess thats going to be available in an update around midnight on March 31st Peter...
  5. The Android App is pretty much sorted but i suspect some people might still have a few quirks because of the multitude of different versions of Android and hardware , display resolutions etc that are available on Android - I guess thats what you get for "freedom" My only complaint is that the Android version hasn't been able to improve the weather - I hope it's something that FLO are looking at doing in a future release...
  6. When you have got it all working I will pick your brains for the "solution" Peter...

  8. I used to assign different static ip addresses on the same subnet... although they were all connected either wired or wirelessly to the same router The address range used for the static addresses was excluded from the DHCP pool .. All this was about 4 years ago now so memory might be playign tricks...
  9. Try this maybe? http://www.teamviewer.com/en/help/40-Can-TeamViewer-be-used-within-a-local-network-LAN-only.aspx I used to use teamviewer with static IP's to connect a couple of laptops , smartphones and desktop PC's
  10. There were "internet" issues across the UK today which seem to have been resolved for the time being... Peter...
  11. I picked up a pair of 8x42 Delta SL3's this weekend (Infocus in house brand) ... Japanese manufactured and 30 yr Warranty... They are to replace my Hawke Prostalk 8x56 ED's for walkabout use - Birds and Bugs as they are a lot lighter .. The Prostalks will still get used at night... I haven't pointed the 8x42's at a dark sky yet but will soon... So my list is Viking 6.5x32 MD's Roof Prisms - My specialist Bug binos as they focus to 3 feet and have very good fast focus for following bugs in flight. but they also give pleasing wide field views.. Delta SL3 8x42 Roof Prisms - My Birding Bins Hawke Prostalk 8x56 ED's - My Astro bins Zhumell 25x100's - Astro and sea watching Peter...

  15. What a weekend... lovely clear skies during the day and clouds as the evening started to draw in... taking George's Advice I finally got round to modifying the Dome on the Observatory so now I have a nice wide viewing aperture at the expense of being able to just popping a golf umbrella through the Zenith hole when it came to rain... have got some poly bags big enough to cover the scopes instead as a rain mac... Need some rain to check the sealing before deciding on the next phase... painting all the timbers and then lining the inside with plywood... Billy...
  16. Another cloudy night which is great for my new hobby. I am going to take pictures of the cloudy skies every night when I get home and even some of Light poluted cloudy skies once it gets dark...
  17. Cheers Grant for the visual changes to the forum ... I personaly find it much easier to read... Yet another cloudy night with only a very fuzzy venus managing to glow dimmly through the orange murk...
