Hi all, this is only a cropped picture for you to see... on majority of my pic's I can see stars (like in pic) all a long the outer edge of my pic....they appear to have these two tails coming off of them similar to an arrow. they seem to be pointing to the center though my center stars are tight or at least as I can tell. I've tried different lengths of shots and iso setting and I still can see a glimps of these tails any thoughts? Thanks all! 1x15sec iso6400 lx200gps 8" Autoguider:Orion Starshoot Guide scope: AT72ED F6 430MM Canon T3i: BYE PHD

Hi, Is imaging thru a Barlow very common? I'm looking to get more magnification and was thinking of a 2 x teleconverter to put between my camera lens and prime focus but after thinking about this wouldn't it be better to use a 2 x Barlow? this way I could use it for both imaging and visual. Pros or cons? Also would it be used in this order.. scope,Barlow,Camer? (prime focus use) Your input appriciated. thanks

when using a UHC/LPR filter for DSLR imaging... will you get any unusual glow or halow around objects? and do you find them to bring out the fainter stars? here is a link of one I'm interested in... I've been reading mixed reviews. Thanks for any input you may have. Celestron UHC / LPR 2" Filter - 94124 - OPT Telescopes thanks

Hello, what are the pros and cons if using a SCT-CLS LPF rather that ones metioned above? Im thinking of getting this, I do color dslr imaging in LP area and was thinking this may help. thanks in advanced. here is link. I'm concern with the aperture ratio of 1:2 and larger where it may have issues. will this work with my setup? I use a LX200GPS 8" with or without a 6.3 FR. http://www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=11398&tb=3&kw=LIGHT%20POLLUTION%20%20FILTER&st=1 Mark

Your opinion needed on this ccd camera

I found out it's maximum exposure time is 2 seconds. I'm new to this and I thought video capture would take the place of long exposure time. I see plenty of pic's with details like "used 600 best frames of 8000" Is this video capture? also Do you find CCD camera's are used more for DSO's than DSLR? I'm trying to find the easiest approach to this. setting up and shooting with an DSLR is somewhat time consuming but I'm finding out both methods have there pro's and cons. -
Hi, This was my first try at Astrophotography. I took this in my backyard with LP within city. I used my Canon XSI, 90 sec exposure, @ ISO 800, tracking (no guiding) prime focus, LX200GPS 8" ALT/AZ mount. post process with Lighthouse3. enjoy!

Hello Everyone! I'm new here and have enjoyed reading your forums. I'm now invested in this hobby with the purchase of a Meade LX200gps 8". I'm interested in astrophotography which I have a Canon XSI which I use prime focus which works fine but I'm thinking from what I have read and seen is it may be easier with a CCD camera to capture images. I've been looking at this camera and was wondering for you experts what do you think of the specs? I like to capture DSO's do you think this would do ok? I'm on a budget. I thank you in advance. here is the link. Digital USB Telescope Camera 3.0 MegaPix
