  1. Absolutely awesome. Apple will want to buy you out ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have posted a mini guide to how this image was processed in the image processing forum, for those who may be interested.
  3. From the album: Deep Sky Images

Image of M42 taken from Wimbledon Back Garden. Equipement: Celestron 6SE, 0.63 Focal reducer, Canon 1100d (no astro mod) 38 x 24s ISO 800. Image stacked in DSS with 5 flat frames (obtained using laptop). 25 x 24s darks. Image processing in Mathematica to obtain the required colour pallet. Final tweaks in Photoshope CS2.

    Moon Mosaic

    From the album: Lunar Images

Mosaic composition of the near full moon taken 26th December 2012 from Wimbledon backgarden. The composite is composed of 21 single images taken using C6SE with the Baader 2.35 x Barlow attached to Canon 1100D (ISO200, 1/25s). The image was composed in photoshop, with sharpening applied. No adjustment to curves or levels, just the neutral response of the camera is given here.

  16. From the album: Planetary Images

Taken on 28th November 2012 from Wimbledon back Garden with Webcam 1280 x 1024. Using Baader 2.35 x Barlow with the C6SE. Around 400 frames stacked in Registax6.0. Seeing ok. Decent view of the GRS.
  17. Imaged using the 2.25 x Baader Barlow, with small extension tube.

  19. From the album: Planetary Images

Taken on 5th Nov 2012 from Wimbledon backgarden. Using Double stacked barlows x2 x 2.25 using BYE ISO800 1/25s exposure 500 frames stacked in Registax6 (using best 30%) Seeing poor
  20. From the album: Planetary Images

Taken on 5th Nov 2012 from backgarden using double staked barlows x2 x2.25 with 1100d with C6SE Using BYE stacked in Registax6 Seeing poor
  21. From the album: Lunar Images

Moon taken on 2 Nov 2012 with BYE with canon 1100d at iso 800 and 1/20 s exposure with Baader 2.25x barlow and C6SE 500 frames stacked in Registax6. Seeing poor.
  22. From the album: Planetary Images

Jupiter taken on 2 Nov 2012 using BYE with canon 1100d at ISO 800 1/25s exposure using the Baader 2.25 x Barlow and C6SE 500 frames stacked and aligned in Registax. Seeing poor - but some lucky frames added some extra detail.
  23. From the album: Deep Sky Images

This was the first attempt at imaging M31 through the C6SE using Canon 1100D at ISO3200 14 x 15s exposures at prime focus in September 2012. 10 darks @ 15s stacked, normalised and subtracted from each image. Post processing included the removal of most of the light pollution. Increasing the length of exposures is almost impossible. However in the process I built an alignment algorithm in Mathematica, based on the one used by NASA (and DSS) for plate solving, the results are decent for the quality of stacking and a big improvement on memory usage compared with the stock Mathematica algorithm. The exposure time can only really be solved with a better mount and a nice dark sky site !
