  1. Sorry if not made myself vey clear. I want to change the standard wooden base mount that comes with the Skyliner 200p (8") to a tripod version but not sure if you can do this with the size of the scope being so large?
  2. Do you have The 200 dobs scope? I've looked for a tripod for it but not sure what I can use? I welcome any advice!!!
  3. Hi, going off this mount (slightly), i wandered if you knew if you are able to use a different mount on the Skywatcher Skyliner 200p Dobs? i find the original wooden version very clumbersome and would like a tri-pod of some description? i've tried searching & asking but to no avail Can you help?
  4. Thanks Simon, i've had a quick look. Looks good for an overview on light pollution area's but i could really do with knowing if their are any group's/site's close by?
  5. Evening all Does anyone know a good dark site near Hull (East Yorkshire). The back garden is ok but I'd like to pop the bulbs on the street lights.

Cheers Mark. you'll have to forgive the dumb question (clue is in the title), as standard the scope comes with a 10mm & 25mm EP. Their's also an extension tube which i can only presume is what people are calling the "Barlow"? If this is correct, can you explain what you need this for please?

Thanks JBM1165. More than helpful. To be honest, the part about the securing rings and what type of mount you had to use was confusing. You've helped clarify for me, cheers.

Hi all. I purchased my first scope recently, the skyline 200 dobs. It's got the standard mount but does anyone know if you can get a tripod mount for it? And if so, we're best place?
  11. Hi all. I've purchased the skyliner 200 but want a better mount (tripod). I'm pretty new to all this and could really do with some help. I've googled to death but nothing really tells you what will and won't fit for my scope?
