There is a red alert for an Aurora which should be visible all over the UK, unfortunately it is 5pm in the afternoon and does not get dark until about 8.30pm. Typical..... 🙄

Just checked the long range weather forecast for the star party weekend, 8th - 10th March. It looks like typical spring like weather, with some showers interspersed with long periods of sunshine and clear skies.
Fingers crossed.
looking forward to catching up with everyone.

I was camped on 34b last time near Mike and Aidy. Please disregard that last post I've been a grumpy sausage the last couple of weeks with the "100 day cough"... 🙄
The Autumn camp really was relentlessly damp though. The last morning was perfect timing because my Vango Carron fly started dripping... It's a perfect size for one person sleeping on a proper folding bed with loads of gear and can be stood up in however I'm giving up as at Kielder the same thing happened on the last morning. The final evening we had frost and during the morning pack up the inside started dripping again. So I'm selling my Higear Enigma Elite 5 (good tent just too big) and the Vango Carron (great for summer) to part fund another tent rated for more adverse weather. Either a Berghaus Air 4 or the new Outwell Sunhill 3P Air looks interesting.
I have the Berghaus Air 400, it is an excellent tent and well worth spending the extra money for the better materials and higher build quality than some cheaper brands.

We’ve been in touch with a few options in the background and dismissed a few because of campsite size or facilities.
We are going to try and visit the fforest fields site at some point…
Thanks Grant for your reply.
Hope we can meet up and have a few beers once more at an SGL star party in the near future.
Cheers,

Have there been any further developments in finding a new site for the SGL star parties?

BBC 2 9.00pm - The Space Shuttle that fell to Earth
BBC 4 10.00pm - 8 Days: To the Moon and back
BBC 4 11.30pm - Stargazing: Moon Landing special
I have seen all the above programs, but worth watching again in my opinion.

A really good night's imaging here at the SWAG star party from 1.30 to 6.00am. A few breaks for scuding clouds, otherwise very transparent skies. Quite cold though. Have some good data to work with.
