  1. Does anyone know the payload for an older EQ6 (black version) Cheers Frank
  2. At that price I would read throught he decription its, likely a rip off boot leg copy
  3. I would be using it only with my Nikon d5500 and mainly for daytime stuff. Im using Dxo ATM, so looks like an upgrade might be worth it
  4. Simple answer, Updates, but like you I am adverse in giving anyone info about my details, which is why I use a junk mail box, setup up to delete at the server end, so I dont get to see any junk unwanted mail
  5. I'm in a lucky position, in that I am able if I wanted, too get a student/teacher licence, which is currently just £95. but will be trying out Gimp first for a basic grounding
  6. Does anyone use Photo Lab 3? Whats the verdict, have been using Dxo for just the normal photo stuff (non astro)
  7. I could've brought a nice 125mm TS ED APO photoline for that price
  8. Ditto on that, everyone seems to want a monthly slice of your pocket these days, so if its eg. £10 a month, thats £120 a year, and you may have the software for how many years? work out the cost of that compared too how software use to be brought outright
  9. A rather large losmandy plate (setting up a dual rig, will be fitted with dual saddles)
  10. Theres no link, so cant comment. I do have an optistar 80mm, which Im happy with, its solid and well built got mine from the forum here, for £56, a bargin IMO, new they are £149 Or how about a RDF ?
  11. Cheers for that, at least Im on the right track, com ports I can deal with too
  12. have installed Ascom, & my camera drivers with ST4 driver which is now showing in Ascom but now what ? Thinking I need to also install EQmod for my EQ6, but how to use this with APT & stellarium, sky safari ect, I also need to use the bluetooth dongle on the EQ6 What's needed for that Cheers peeps
  13. From what I was told when ordering a reducer, just the camera t-ring will provide the spacing you need, your FR might b the same
  14. The numbers 11. 16. 22. when matched with the F stop, will give you depth of field You wont need to use them for astro
  15. Starting up the old EQ6, upgraded the old puck, and now has a dual vixen/losmandy saddle As funds allow, will be adding a larger saddle, to then fit a larger losmandy plate with two saddles to make a side by side setup This mount has a bluetooth dongle, so hopefully once setup, I wont need to use the handset
  16. Thats a nice lens, would suggest you use F2.8 first, F.2 might be too much Looking for a 135mm myself
  17. A little more light reading to go alongside the GIMP book. I may be gone some time
  18. If it works for you, use it, IMO it no different than using any image program, its still image editing, same as Gimp, and many other programs
  19. Yes, you can use your ZWO, how about adding it to this guider -- https://www.firstlightoptics.com/zwo-accessories/zwo-finder-and-guider-scope.htm
  20. Just a little light reading this morning, and an EQ puck for my older black EQ6, and yes it does fit
  21. Yes I will make mistakes, but its all part of the learning process, I will try to make the most of them, more than happy to share them too
  22. As someone just starting out, I'm likely to make mistakes too. So, good to see I will be following in others footsteps, somewhere along the line
