  1. I want to try and image a meteor when we have the Perseids metor shower and wondered if there is a filter I can buy to go on my camera lens to cut out/reduce the glow from the streetlights. I have searched the internet and the only one I can find costs over $300 from the USA and I can't afford that so is there anything cheaper I can buy.
  2. For the first 3 years it was D. Then I had a year of E................. followed by a year of G ( Life got in the way of everything that year.) I am pleased to say I am currently back up to E now and can't wait to get out there.
  3. Thanks Dr Robin I will try that next time I can get out. It's been cloudy since then so no chance to get out. I gets a bit addictive this doesn't it. I have had the scope for a few years but have only just learnt how to set up the polarscope and how to polar align properly. Now I can track things it's suddenly become so much easier.
  4. This is my 2nd attempt at Jupiter, the first was a grey stripy blob. I have managed to get some colour but I can't seem to get the focus right. I am using a motor focuser and even on the slow setting its difficult to achieve proper focus. Have to keep practising I suppose. http://stargazerslounge.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=80100&stc=1&d=1329690273

    Hello

Hello everyone, I have had a telescope now for a few years but shift work and cloudy nights mean I don't get to use it as often as I would like. It's usually clear when I am on nights and cloudy when I am off. My next mission is to get my head around polar alignment as I would like to have a go at web camming a planet. Wish me luck as I have looked at the instructions and although it may sound fairly straightforward, in practice I think it will be alot different:confused:. I'll let you know how I get on.
