  1. Better centre of gravity more stable no not at all far easier to balance
  2. Mine usually 40 or 60 mins depending on extreme differences
  3. I also got the Rotator if AP was on the horizon which I don’t think it is it almost like a mini version of an equatorial platform used with Dobs again so well engineered
  4. Yes they are like hens teeth especially second hand and I know the previous owner was sad to see it go but the quality is another level as you say
  5. What Dave sell the Tak ohhh or the TEC ohhh 😮 but I will definitely put up some reports now I’m settled on equipment for now lol 😂
  6. As Space hopper says, I would need to change the head on the planet and that’s an expense I don’t really need yes the planet would be loverly but not essential and overkill really for this mount it is rock solid as is and the uni 18 is very stable for this mount and weight
  7. Don’t think there are to many about I know Gavstar on here has 2 but they are a piece of quality engineering Thanks John I am very happy with it more excited than I have ever been with a mount it’s a bit unusual compared to the Skywatcher and Celestron that im used to especially the hand Controll but very well thought out
  8. Has been a while in the pipe line and many attempts but finally thanks to SGL member Space hopper I’m the proud owner of a TTS160 and what a delight it is I have been looking for some time for a simple motorised mount with GOTO and and good weight handling along with portable and quick to set up well this I think certainly ticks all of those boxes it easily handles my TMB-APM 130 My C9.25 and I still have the option of dual or even triple scope mounting I like that it’s top mounted so easy lift with the Big Gun 130 so looking forward to many nights viewing with this mount I was waiting for Rowan to release there motor kit but that’s still in progress and this came up and I decided it should do all I want so selling off my other mounts etc in the classified adds .
  9. Hi it is a bit of a beast it’s Optics are By Astreya it’s a Doublet Doublet in one cell done by Andre Strakhov and very high Strehl totally colour free
  10. Welcome to the 130 club STU a very nice Lzos you have there I think they are just perfect not to small not big although mine is a bit bigger than most 😀compared to now days but I love it , as you know like you I have had a few over the years but seemed to be settled for now lol 😂
  11. Will it permanently be set up as it’s a very heavy set up to put up and down every night
  12. Best view of Saturn and the cassini even still today was way back from when I had my first Vixen Atlux 150 now with mr Peach the detail then was outstanding
  13. My TMB-APM Classic 130 is around 20 years old now and the views are still amazing as in the look of the scope as are the WO TEC 110 that’s 16 years and the C9.25 carbon tube also about same age although the modern scopes are getting better these classics still in my opinion out shine them
  14. Not quite an LZOS but not far off An Astreya Quadruplet Russian optics by Andre Strakhov 001 formerly Intes micro Tube and design TMB-APM -Mathias Wirth Kruprux tube
  15. Have to say the Quad Astreya TMB APM classic is hard to beat I find it as good as the TOA150 I had not had a lot of chance to try out the C9.25 on planets yet so that may well be up there obviously the TSA 120 is excellent the 150 ED is one of the best Doublets I’ve tried in that size range but the TMB edges it even giving an inch away The WO TEC 110 is sweet too gives a wider field of view also
  16. Altair do quite a nice one it works well on my TMB APM classic
  17. Hi Stu stayed up very late and caught Jupiter Saturn and lunar picked out a few doubles regulus few in virgo
  18. Cool down is quicker and less reflection on lenses I would say it’s a slight advantage over air spaced but I’ve never had problem with either to be honest
  19. My WO the Very rare and excellent 110 FLT TEC F6.5 oil spaced triplet the views are Absolutely stunning
  20. Congratulations on your purchase Mark they are truly a wonderful scope
