No not side by side but the APM is a fine performer and it was only a future long term medical condition that prompted me to narrow down my telescope collection and get a stick with it scope which I would have with the APM but I was lucky to be able to get the TEC I would highly recommend the APM 140 it’s a manageable scope the tube is a six inch so it’s looks like a huge scope but being a doublet it’s easy to manage you would have to look real hard to find any CA on any bright objects in focus the build and finish are top notch and premium I’d say like I said it looks and is better for the 3.7 focuser yes the TEC is better but 7k better no definite not if the deal on the TEC hadn’t been on I would have been quite happy with the APM .

TEC140 ED Out Tonight Moon and Venus the targets nice views

The More blue versions FLO sell are just as good in my opinion I had both at same time on different scopes and found them equally as good as each other and the more blue is a bit cheaper .

Just out for a few hours with my TEC 140 ED which I got a few weeks ago and what with work and back problems this is first time I’ve been able to get out and I must say WOW it definitely lives up to the hype just looking at the moon I see detail so clear and sharp the mountain range is like 3d and inside the craters is also so clear I’m able to pick out minute creators I couldn’t see before in other scopes . Had a look at Venus to nice plain disk slight shading but not much detail very pleased the wait was worth it bring on the gas giants . Couple of eyepiece camera shots of moon

The APM 140 is a great scope I had one go for the large focuser if you can one it looks right and two it holds on to your gear better only reason I sold mine was to upgrade to a TEC 140 ED

I got some of Amazon Rob fitted a treat

I love the grey I had one best colour in my opinion

Hi John yes quite a few years ago now a fine scope it was nice optics quite a large scope they are I’d say in those days the perfect size now the 140 I’d say is perfect size .

I think I’ve been lucky enough to own most of mine a Takahashi 150 TOA Astro Physics 130EDT Celestron C14HD , Obsession 18 Classic And now Finally A TEC 140ED 😊 🤔

Yep I would change the springs makes a big difference to holding collimation
