  1. Nope no view in Machynlleth, Mid Wales
  2. Let me know what you think of it when it arrives.
  3. Haha, kids or a scope? Hard decision The steadypix adaptor arrived this morning, and just given it a quick test on the sun. Very impressed with the results, especially when compared to the image taken by the soho satellite.
  4. Nice pic Decided to buy the Orion steadypix to hopefully use next week with the Transit of Venus. I did come across this adaptor though which looks promising: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/637232010/magnifi-the-worlds-first-iphone-photoadapter-case
  5. This adaptor claims it works from iPhone 3 onwards. Just ordered one myself to use with an iPhone 4. http://www.scsastro.co.uk/catalogue/orion-steadypix-telescope-afocal-adapter-for-iphone-5303.htm
  6. I have the same problem with my 200p dob. Wonder if someone sells a shorter version of the part where the eyepieces (and webcam) attaches to? I notice it unscrews.
  7. I'm impressed it picks up so much detail. When I've tried Jupiter the brightness is too high cause of the dark background, and it's just looks like a white circle.
  8. So you just used the camera app on the iPhone to record a video? Then passed that through Registax?
  9. How did you manage to get so much detail with Jupiter? Everytime I tried Jupiter with the iPhone I couldn't get any of the banding to come out.
  10. Thanks A bit fiddly but not bad when you get it though (see attached pic) The app I use is Camera+ with the stabiliser feature. When you press the shutter it then waits until the image is still before talking a picture.
  11. Thanks, asked FLO as well and they thought the same. Just a shame it's out of stock at the moment.
  12. Haven't got round to reading the whole thread so forgive me if this has been asked already. I'm planning on ordering an xbox cam this week. Notice on FLO that there are two different webcam nosepiece adaptors, would both of them work on the xbox cam? Or is one preferred over the other? Thanks in advance.
  13. Just got a pair of these myself as well and have the same thoughts as you. Just want the cloud and rain to clear now to try them on the sky.
  14. Just been and got a pair of these binoculars. Initial thoughts are they seem decent. Quite a sharp bright image. Nice focus range looking through trees with the different levels snapping into focus. Have to wait for the grey wet stuff to clear before I can test them properly on the sky, but impressed so far.
  15. Thanks, took a bit of effort getting them in the right place but think it's worth it now I've had a chance to use it. Don't have to worry about where the opening is as you know it will always be between the spider vanes. Plus the elastic across the locating holes do a good job of stopping the filter being knocked or blown off.
