  2. decent hour with the bino's.finally seen m33(couldnt in a 12" dob!!) and the lovely m39 and m73.slowly ticking those messiers off :)

      well some luck before the dew started on my finder and then the clouds came in.the 18mm 2" is indeed a bit of a mare to get the full view.the 14mm is great and a good focal length.seeing wasnt really good enough for the 8.8mm.filters dont make much difference from my location

      managed m2 and m15 which are new to me

      Yeah tonight showing cloudy too.it showed that it was going to be clear tonight all week then as soon as i take my scope its cloudy.think ive managed 2 nights viewing in the last 3 months

  9. realised that stargazing could be the least possible regular hobby than you can possibly try in this country.its been clear like 2 times in the last 3 months!!

  10. finally after over 3 weeks my ES 82 degree 8.8/14 and 18mm eyepieces have arrived and they didnt ask for a signature either so maybe i will get away with not paying any import duty and vat.doubtful but i could do with soime luck after the nightmare of dealing with US companies

  11. 20 days after ordering and still no sign of my eyepieces arriving from America!dont even know if they are in the UK yet as USPS dont track.serialistic nightmare order!!

  12. 15 minutes with the binoculars tonight on the way back from the south coast and i could make out andromeda with better detail than my old 200p!!shows the value of a dark site over aperture!!

      too right.Too many are chasing the unseeable with the unafordable.All you need is dark sky!

  13. well my american order still isnt any better-ordered 30/9 and its still not left the USA yet!!!!think these eyepieces will be priceless by the time i get them grrr

  14. well im definately never ordering from highpointscientific in the USA ever again.8 days from my order and they haven't even despatched it yet and the customer service is terrible!!handsonoptics didnt even reply to my last email for ordering info!!be happy to pay uk prices in future for better service!!!

      despatched today with 8-10 business days delivery.placed the order 30/9 so likely a 3 week minimum wait.

      about £100 on 3 eyepieces once you take into account taxes and shipping.i would rather have spent the extra £100 and have the eyepieces in my scope ready to use

  15. trying to order from the US is proving to be a stressful disaster!at the moment im considering paying double to use a UK dealer!

      and patchy cloud stops play.few ncg numbers round the northern cross but dodging clouds got too much

      nah im fasiling lousily to find it but its in an area of quite bad skyglow from my back garden so thinking i may need a trip to somewhere darker.i only get a faint fuzzy with andromeda too

  23. tentatively cleaning my secondary mirror and if that goes right i will see if the 12" primary will fit it the sink

  24. really clear skies tonight despite the bad forcast.m29 and 52 in the bag,slightly better view of m56 and amazing views of m57

  25. decent looking skies but i ran over a cat this evening which has kinda dampened the mood and made me want to chill with my cat
