I'm getting the same error, so guess my machine is too old too. Bit of a shame

Oops, thanks for moving.

thanks guys, it's a favourite of mine, pleased how well an osc and triband filter did on it. A mono will do better

Pleased to report it was all a great success. Lee came round for the fun of ripping my mount apart. Clutch plates were stuck, worm wheel was too tight on the shaft, one worm end bearing shot, had to drill and tap the grub screws to 5mm. Very pleased with the initial guiding tests, The RA axis looked more like rough saw tooth but is pretty good now. TBH I think the mount is better than when it was new, don't think I ever got tracking this good. It wasn't very hard following the video, good job all round.

I've been getting a problem with the rear element of the Samyang 135 and Sharpstar reducer fogging up with my Atik 1-6 camera.
Just wondering if anyone might know the cause and solution. It only does when the cooler is running so I think it's being caused by the camera. I've taken things apart, aired and dried but it's still doing it. It obviously hasn't done it in previous years but had this issue mostly this year. I don't have a desiccant tablet, it's an argon filled chamber. Incidentally a friend has the same is just started with an Atik osc.
If i take the camera off and clear the fog it usually stays clear but a bit annoying with a screwed up system.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed
thanks for looking

that's great thanks, ordered. One of the RA collar grub screw threads was stripped, so drilled & tapped to 5mm, box of grub screws ordered. This must have been at the factory as I've had the mount from new and the first time it's been apart

All went well today, the video you linked was very helpful. everything is much better now apart from one of the RA worm bearings is grindy and needs replacing. It's a 608Z, anyone a link for replacements or a SKF number.
I don't mind that it's still in bits as it should be a much better mount once finished

This all sounds good getting frustrated with mine and thinking it needs this treatment. ra is very stiff, dec is very free.
If seen a reports of superlube or the bicycle grease, so which is best for this mount?

amazing FOV. To my taste it's a little over sharpened, hope you don't mind me saying so, but that may just be me. What do you think?
Hi Craigg
No its fine I don't mind your comment. I was trying something different and agree that I pushed it too much trying to pull out some detail. I'll hold but next time.

Great image Lee and good project to work, maybe more to come given the UK weather

First light with my new Antlia 3nm HA filter. work in progress due to trying to remember the processing techniques. Taken on a not so great night, Moon thin cloud etc.
Will take some flats and see if that improves a fault. Very pleased with the filter, would like to add more subs.

I'm currently working on an image with this filter and very much liking what's coming out.

I'm about to upgrade my Mono PGR Blackfly camera. Just wondering what people are recommending these days.
For sun I have a quark in a 80 or 127mm refractor
For Moon I have a 180mak or C9.25, so long fl and I'm thinking big pixels. I have a zwo174 on loan but typically it's cloudy this week.
Any thoughts welcomed

Both images look great I'd be pleased to get either. I see more detail in the sct image. If it works I'm not sure I'd get bogged down in theory that says it shouldn't. Just carry on with what you are doing, enjoy the hobby.
