    Oh darn clouds. I got set up under clear skies and then the cloud rolled in. At least I got my camera, with a newly acquired coma corrector, focused and flats taken. Perhaps I'll get the chance to use it before the moon starts swamping the sky.

      You still using that xbox cam? Was a great practice and learner camera but for decent images you'll be better off upgrading to something based on the sony chip. I know the spc is a bit of a laugh to get hold of now but there are other webcams to try, u just need to get lucky with a good price. I'm trying out a mono chip at the moment, hoping the method isn't too complicated with filters and combining three channels - but with any luck i can move on to that one and have a webcam sp...

      Actually got rained on twice, a gap appeared in clouds and i set up and soon as i had aligned it rained on everything :( i was stupid enough to do it again later the same night with similar results - doh!

      Yeah, managed to see several but it wasn't really a 'shower' even though from midnight on it was cloudless - 11th/12th - and last night was anything but clear. Still, Stayed up to see Perseids, Saw some Perseids can't complain :)

      oh well, great things can be done with a few seconds of exposure, i got a shot wide field of comet panstarrs a week ago - quite chuffed with it.

      Clear skies again, hopefully !

      I have talked to a bloke who used a fishing umbrella to temporarily cover the streetlight and next doors security lights when imaging/observing late at night.
