  1. You’ve got yourself a great eyepiece. ? One of my favourite Naglers. Prefer it to the 31mm Nagler as to me it gave more satisfying views.
  2. I think it’s actually a type of cheese. ? Should last long enough to undo two nuts though......I think. The Halfords is a lovely little set though with a lifetime replacement guarantee. I keep one around for small tasks..
  3. Any small socket set like this will do. Of course you can pick up cheap sets off Amazon or eBay for a few quid as well if you don’t think you’ll be using it much. https://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/socket-sets/halfords-advanced-36-piece-socket-set-1-4 Or the cheapie stuff that won’t last but is cheap. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rolson-36109-Socket-Set-Pieces/dp/B000WDTI1C/ref=sr_1_4?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1539893610&sr=1-4&keywords=Socket+set&refinements=p_36%3A118658031
  4. Received the mounting foot for my grab’n’go 80ED scope I had been after thanks to another SGL member Cleetus. Great guy. Sent the foot by 1st Class post and wouldn’t accept any payment. Not even for the postage. Some amazing members here. ??? Helps keep the weight down and perfectly adequate for visual. ? John
  5. Yes the Berlebach tripods aren’t exactly the cheapest. Fortunately I already had one from another mount and it does make for a very portable combination.
  6. Very nice. ? Is delivery 2/2 a tripod? Berlebach maybe?
  7. Don’t have one myself but Amazon does. ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fantasy-Fields-Bookcase-Bookshelf-Water-based/dp/B01BNL4UAK
  8. I assume you’re using a serial cable with a usb converter to connect.
  9. Yes it was. Went for it as I used to have one. Made by Long Perng and was available from a few different places. For visual couldn’t really see any difference between the. FPL51 glass used and an FPL53 scope. Will see how it performs with a Herschel Wedge. The red solar finder is a coincidence as I already had it.
  10. Revelation 80ED f6.8 for grab’n’go duties. In decent condition. Typical ED frac with FPL51 glass and good enough for what I want it for. Had one years ago and found it gave very nice views so when I came across another one at a good price bought it. ?
  11. Good mod. Wish Skywatcher would fit better saddles or at least have optional saddles. Replaced the stock saddle on my AZ-EQ5 GT with an ADM one although had to fit a new puck to the mount as well.
  12. Not the cheapest way but Skywatcher do a serial to usb cable. Is there a local Skywatcher dealer? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/celestron-mounts/sky-watcher-synscan-usb-to-serial-rs-232-cable.html
  13. Had the same problem recently. Turned out to be the serial / usb adaptor that was the problem updating the driver didn’t help so bought another adaptor and no problem.
  14. From here. http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/product/3394/hand-knob-bakelite-steel-screw-wds-8148/ Part No: 8148-22118 John
  15. Just did a quick count and I have eight devices that receive Netflix. ?
  16. If you have a blu-ray player or set top box or games console most allow you view Netflix in case you don’t have a smart TV.
  17. You just need the AR90 f8.8 to complete the set. ?
  18. From Amazon. Price varies depending on colour/pattern. Really comfy round the neck as well. ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0751ZY6LF?ref_=pe_3187911_248764861_302_E_DDE_dt_1&th=1
  19. A simple but useful item. Padded strap for my new bins. Has quick disconnects so easy to remove the strap plus has two little expandable pouches that will convienently hold the lens covers so no more where did I put the lens covers. ? John
  20. New pair of bins. ? Nikon Action Extreme EX 7x50 Had thought about the 10x50 but decided to stick with the 7x50 as I find that more comfortable to use. Feel good in the hand and not too heavy. Nice semi budget bins. Fully multi coated and Bak 4 prisims and waterproof and fogproof. 7x48 actually but closer to 50mm than most budget bins. John
  21. No it’s The 180. Super pleased with the lunar / planetary views it’s giving which is what I bought it for.
  22. Teak garden bench for this evening. Forecast is for heavy cloud but clear skies instead. ?
  23. Search for “Gas Lift Bar Stool” and you should find something suitable although without castors.
