  1. Was a bit wobbly this morning but when it steadied had great views of all the spots. Tremendous detail on the big group. The Tecnosky 125 and Lacerta wedge are giving me the best white light views I’ve ever had. Proving to be the perfect combo. 🙂🙂🙂
  2. The producd vid shows a lttle but a bit “arty” rather than informative.
  3. The Baader Diamond Steeltrack RT comes without the focuser to scope adaptor which needs buying separately to suit whichever scope it’s being fitted to. You just need to get the Baader Adapter M90 to Diamond Steeltrack BDS-RT to fit the CC. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/baader-diamond-steeltrack-focusers/baader-steeltrack-diamond-rt-adapter-m90x1-for-refractors-gso-rc-scopes.html
  4. And when I say HA scopes can be expensive.🙀 https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/index.php/language/en/manufacturers_id/57/astro/LUNT+Solar+Systems.html
  5. Yes that would give you white light images. For anything else you would need a refractor. HA solar scopes are seriously expensive. The hershel wedge plus cak filter would work on an ordinary refractor. The cheapest most basic HA scope would be a Coronado PST 40mm. https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p7576_Coronado-PST-solar-telescope-for-H-Alpha-observation.html
  6. You can buy a pre-made white light solar filter or make your own using the Baader solar film. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/solar-filters/astrozap-baader-solar-filter.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/solar-filters/baader-astrosolar-safety-film-nd-50.html Or the 3.8 film for photo use only https://www.firstlightoptics.com/solar-filters/astrosolar-photo-film-od-38.html The mono astro camera would be best although cooling not needed as solar exposures are so short. Herschel wedges can only be used with refractors.
  7. Although electricity was used to transmit the post and then light from the screen to reach my eyes. 😁
  8. My pet peave in modern language trends is adding “tated” to the end of a word. For example people now say orientated instead of oriented. I know it has now been added to the Oxford dictionary but that doesn’t make it correct.
  9. The basic vixen dovetail that comes with your scope is strong enough to handle a fair bit of weight but would flex a bit with a heavy scope. However you can get much heavier duty Vixen type dovetails that will handle plenty of weight. The Losmandy is heavier duty still and being wider more stable but wouldn’t be thinking about one unless using a larger scope of say over 10kg. Better Vixen type dovetail bar. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/dovetails-saddles-clamps/stellamira-universal-vixen-style-dovetail-bar.html
  10. Basicly the old narrow type Vixen style dovetail bars have been around for ages and are fine for lighter scopes. The bigger wider Losmandy type are ideal for bigger scopes but weigh more so not ideal for use on smaller telescope mounts where the extra weight can be a problem. Dovetail saddles (the part that the dovetail bars fit into) come in three types. Vixen and Losmandy of course but also in a dual fit type that will hold either vixen or Losmandy but cost more.
  11. Lot of iseful little gadgets can be found on Amazon although can take some searching.👍🏻
  12. Just skimmed through it and more info than I want really. 😁 https://courses.lumenlearning.com/physics/chapter/29-4-photon-momentum/
  13. Here’s a new catchprase for you “ Semiconductor Sovereignty”. Being used by the EU among others in plans to reduce reliance on far eastern supplers. Also see the EU planned Chips Act
  14. This thread on CN gives some interesting opinions and suggests that the Cemax eyepieces perform like a decent plossl in HA https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/388210-cemax-eyepieces/
  15. They are just overpriced regular Plossl eyepieces marketed as HA eyepieces. Nothing Special. Same as regular GSO Plossl eyepieces I beleive. You can find threads on CN about them
  16. Hopefully will have moved around enough by tomorrow to get a better idea. 🙏🏼
  17. Went to see if I could spot the smaller of the two upper spots only to find the clear blue sky wasn’t so clear anymore. Grrrrr🤬
  18. Looks like three new spots on the limb. Here’s an image just downloaded from Solar Monitor that shows the upper spot is actually two.
  19. Looking at the forecast it’s a maybe for tomorrow morning. Too much cloud today. Looks good in this downloaded NASA image.
  20. Not seen one with a rubber base. I use an AZ100 mount and a Berlebach Planet tripod and zero vibration when focusing. Of course it all depends on what mount and tripod you are using.
