I liked mine but it was floater city so sadly sold on. The Vixen SLV 4mm is nowhere near as bad. I wonder is this due to the much reduced fov, eye relief, element grouping, coatings or a combination?

Replacing an ES 4.7mm that did give mr some floater problems. Used to have a 4mm Nirvana and much less of a problem with floaters so bought another one.  Funny how some eyepieces suit some people better than others.

  2. I sold the CC6” to help pay for the 125 APO but always regretted selling it and bought back the CC6” a bit later. I thought the 125 APO would completely replace the CC6” but it is much heavoer scope that requires a bigger mount so not very grab’n’go.

The CC6” will show more than the 127 mak but the mak is still a very nice scope and much lighter.

  3. You can get a simple L bracket that mounts the binoculars at the side but a better way is the TS L adaptor that mounts the binoculars on top of the mount and uses a counterweight. The width of the binoculars is no longer a problem.

I used one on an AZ-GTi mount and it worked very well with a short scope or binoculars.

  4. Just tested the slewing loudness using a decibel meter but was quieter than the background noise in the conservatory which was 37.8dBA. In other words a housefly makes more noise than the mount slewing. 🙂

Decibels are a logarithmic scale not linear.

    10dBA - Normal breathing
20dBA - Mosquito or rustling leaves
    30dBA - A whisper
40dBA - Housefly or quiet room
    50dBA - Normal conversation
    60dBA - Laugher
70dBA - Vacuum cleaner or hairdryer
    80dBA - City traffic
    90dBA - Motorcycle or lawnmower
