    Astro Buckaroo - I keep adding scopes and mounts until the wife won't take any more and flips.

      Hmm... never got notifications for the comments so sorry for not responding - I hadn't noticed them.

      Currently got 5 scopes plus an Astrotrac. I do keep them hidden as much as possible in a 14' x 10' Man shed (which even has a blackout blind in the window to keep them out of site)

    Wohoo, my replacement Quark solar hydrogen alpha "eyepiece" has arrived at SCS Astro! I have sent my faulty one back today and look forward to the replacement one. Big thanks to SCS Astro for letting me use the faulty one while waiting for the replacement :)

    Tonights test, very rough PA, then guide for a bit, disapointed I cant get focus with my "Guide Scope" not enough inward too.... st80 then i guess

      Ps have you screwed the front lens all the way in having backed off the locking ring? (most will reach focus but mine wasn't one of the usual brands)

      I had to cut about 1/4" off the back of my finder to reach focus. Luckily I've got another for use as a finder.

    more matt black paint ordered to complete the anti reflection coatings.correct flocking material on its way.even ordered a small paddling pool to clean my 16" mirror in.just a month to now wait before the sky starts getting dark again

      Paddling pool - great idea! We've got a ceramic sink and my 14" only fits in it on a tilt so I wondered how I could wash it without worrying about cracking either it or the sink.

      Meade ETX scopes have a rather small correct orientation straight through finder but I've never seen anything larger.

      Depends which one. My old darkstar does and Orion Optics do I think but I'm sure I heard of someone having to adapt the base of a Skywatcher to get it to do so.

    just unpacked my hilux recoated mirror and its scratched to hell,far worse than when i sent it off.to say im unhappy is a total understatement as its cost me alot of money and a 220 mile drive to pick them up.
