  1. I order a lot of stuff from E Bay. The amount of stuff I have received that is damaged beyond use. I end up taking a picture & showing the seller. It then has to go back. I have had no problems with goods ordered from Amazon. Reluctant to order stuff off the Bay now. ?
  2. These adds are getting worse. RRP £1897. I think they left out of the picture , the scope it is attached to.
  3. Same here. Replaced with M 10 bolts. I think the idea is to set the ALT adjustment with no load. That is what i did in the end. Just locked it all up @ 50 deg. Tracks ok . You have got to watch you don't strip the threads in the mount as well.
  4. All I got this morning was 6 , 2ft bungee straps. No astro goodies.
  5. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-mounts/skywatcher-az-eq6-mount.html If your spending that type of money , I would go with something like this.
  6. That is very clever what U have done there. Problem solved. /baader-40mm-super-sky-surfer This what I have just bought. Same alignment problem. Bit more adjustment on this though.
  7. Very good. What a view. Shows what really dark skies are like.
  8. Fare comment. £3.8k for an extra 2" is got to be a bargain. Nice to have loads of dosh. Should be able to see loads more with a 14" than a 12" scope. .
  9. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/edge-hd-series/celestron-edge-hd-series.html That is a lot dosh. £2.5k difference between the C11HD & the C14HD. http://www.tringastro.co.uk/meade-lx200-acf-12-f10-telescope-8826-p.asp This seems a very good buy , compared to the cost of that lot.

That has come out very well. Loads of detail in there.
  11. There is play in the bearing. It should not be like that. These come with a 2 year warranty. It needs sorting out. Leave it alone. Get in touch with who U bought it off of. Not a cheap bit of kit, to muck around with. Steve.
  12. I find I use mine more in the daytime, than at night. They are great terrestrial binos. I go to Beachy Head & do a bit of ship watching, in the channel. The focusing is a bit of a pain. The moon is amazing, through these. Steve.
  13. This is what I have done. The scope points East. It cost less than £200 including decking. It is a 2X2 meter gazebo ,which I modified. All water tight, & survived all the weather, we have just had. just an idea. Steve.
  14. http://www.firstlightoptics.com/dobsonians/sky-watcher-stargate-450p-truss-tube-dobsonian.html Not a cheap scope is it laudropb.
  15. Very interesting report. So its not all up & running, out of the box. Built to a price, like every thing else, now days. Steve.
  16. Totally agree with PHIL 53, about seeing things with the 8x50 finder, that U cannot see with the eyes. Be lost with out it. Steve.
  17. A couple of picts of my bins. Helios Apollo 22x85. Steve.
  18. http://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/jmi-motofocus-for-celestron-cpc-800-cpc-925.html I think I might be better off with something like this. I no it is a lot dearer. You pay for what you get. http://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/motorized-focusing-units.html Steve
  19. Thanks for that.I bet it took a bit of time to put all of that together. Very good. Steve
