  1. Lovely scope Kon. Aperture fever comes to us all 😁 Can't wait to see what you get with that beast. I absolutely love my 12" newt, not sure how it works with a goto dob but on my eq mount I don't bother to star align just a basic polar align then turn on the tracking, it tends to keep the planet in view πŸ‘
  2. Appreciate the comments Kon πŸ‘
  3. To be honest wasn't going to bother going out but the postman delivered my new Svbony ir 685 filter from China & would you believe it the sky cleared a little! Just had a couple of 2min vids one with 3x barlow thre other with 2.25 barlow with normal setup. Seeing wasn't great but the IR pulls out a little more. Didn't bother with colour as it was awful. Did manage a quick compare with my 850 IR & was impressed how much more comes through with 685. Already looking forward to the next opposition.
  4. Really like that, it's look rather nice well done πŸ‘
  5. Appreciate the comment πŸ‘ You could be right my eyes aren't great at achieving accurate focus, although I did soften the image quite a bit in image analyser. I really love the help you guys provide many thanks
  6. Interesting.... Blending one over the other that actually makes perfect sense. Forgive my lack of knowledge but how do you do regional sharpening? Is it a case of selecting an area in gimp/PS & just adjusting that particular part of the image?
  7. Thanks again for your advice Kon. Your last couple of images showed good detail but we're also processed softly enough to show the gas giant as just that. Just wondered what tools you & Geof used to get the balance between detail & soft appearance? Really appreciate all the feedback given by all on here, it's so helpful in trying to improve the end result πŸ‘
  8. Lovely image Harvey, really nice to look at, you must be pleased with that one πŸ‘
  9. Thanks Kon I'll have a look at that when I get home πŸ‘ I use pipp, autostakkert, registax, image analyser & PS to process. I see ones talking about fourier transform & deconvolution which mean absolutely nothing to me are these worth playing with? I presume they are on AstroSurface a program I'm new to.
  10. Thanks Geof I had 3 two minute avis timed at 8.34 to 8.40 so I'm probably thinking it was down to me not measuring the images exactly the same 🀦 Thanks for the feedback πŸ‘
  11. Thanks Kon appreciate your comments, I have to be honest not sure what you mean by LD to 0.6-0.8, what program is that on? 🫣
  12. As usual the seeing wasn't great down here but you just have to have a go, its addictive. Not in the same ball park as Geofs but I love to see the details coming through on his πŸ‘ I had some trouble with winjup aligning the colour as you can see from the left limb having a shadow, not sure I'm using correctly. setup- NEQ6, VX12L, Baader 2.25 Barlow, QHY5 462, UV/IR cut
  13. As usual thats a stunning image Geof I was out that night to & can see what I got a lot clearer in your image. Its really nice to see what the detail should look like when processed well. Looks superb πŸ‘
  14. That is truly fascinating, didn't think it was possible to get that through the earths atmosphere, well done Geof & thanks for sharing πŸ‘
  15. Thats a tough one Geof I love both images I can see what you mean its softer than your original, I like the slightly warmer colour in the second but if I'm honest I prefer your original (probably says more about my sharpening methods πŸ˜‰) I just find it more pleasing on the eye
  16. That is a truly stunning colour image Geof, I can only dream of getting such an image. You must be very pleased πŸ‘ The ir is very good to, love the fine detail
  17. That simply is a beautiful image πŸ‘ I had a quick go the same night through the lovely mist but I never got the smooth detail you did. Well done
  18. Lovely looking image of Jupiter, seriously impressed you've managed to get anything with our weather & the wonderful Jetstream πŸ‘
  19. Thanks Geof I've always used sharpcap since I can remember & it's been nice to use, but recently I seem to be getting blown out areas in the white bands of Jupiter even though my histogram is only around 65%- green/red & blue are all around that mark but the luminance seems to be over cooked which confuses me, but to be fair it doesn't take much to confuse me these days πŸ₯΄ I used FireCapture with roughly the same histogram & it wasn't blown out 🫣
  20. Yes you are right πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ On my laptop screen it didn't look to bad but on my mobile it looked extremely red! I've tried to lower the red a little so hopefully it looks a little more natural. Appreciate the feedback though πŸ‘
  21. I think you are right, used rgb balance in registax again (appreciate the advice Kon) hope it looks a little better, thanks for your comment πŸ‘
  22. Thanks Kon I hadn't even thought about running it through rgb balance for a second timeπŸ‘
  23. Final images from the 6th (I promise) Jupiter with Io & shadow & Ganymede off to the side, again seeing wasn't great & not as good as the IR images. Again can't seem to get the colour right 1st is firecapture the other two sharpcap.
  24. Finally got round to processing some colour images from the 6th. Seeing wasn't great but did get some detail coming through. I was having some real trouble with sharpcap blowing out the white areas even though the histogram was only at 60% so one is with sharpcap & the other with firecapture. No matter what I do can't seem to get them with the same colour! VX12L, QHY5 462c, Baader x2.25 barlow
  25. Lovely image, I have some similar (but not as good) from the same night just haven't got round to processing πŸ‘
