A beautiful orange disc in Norfolk too.

It was stunning, David, so orange, I said to the Mrs to come and have a look. Took a few DSLR snaps but I have no clue what most of the settings do on the camera!

It was almost red for me.

That's a shame, David. what a lottery it is. It seemed okay our way until I packed in at 10:40, the odd period of blur where I stopped the capture.

Feel a bit sorry for the Cambrigeshire County Show, yesterday was fairly bright and dry. Today it is dull, grey and raining in intermittant downpours. The show is today.

What is this summer you talk of? I have childhood memories of it!

Weekends have been disappointing this year! Am lucky that solar brekkie is now on the menu, it was doing my head in seeing so many poor weekend forecasts and rushing focus when any clear bits turned up! Good luck for some fine weekend weather soon!

Thin I need to move a bit further north, I'd be happy for 2 consecutive days at the moment.

Managed to grab some dirty frames through the clouds late yesterday afternoon so the streak lives on.

A good run! I managed 17 straight days on hols last year, typical that it's sunny when I am on hols and can't use my 120mm scope! Back home now and rubbish forecast for the weekend again :D

The Sun doesn't do weekends any more! :-o Holiday Friday is showing as cloudy here. Same old, same old. Hope it's the usual accuracy! :D

Good luck sorting it, even the little things drive me nuts never mind major issues. I suggest a particularly firm hammer if it's stubborn.

Another dead hard drive. Amazon failed to deliver the replacement today! And then I have another rebuild to do. The hammer is very tempting Luke!

Same here, David, the proms have been taunting me all day on Gong :D Hopefully we'll see some cracking images of today's events! And next weekend better be good hehe.

By the time Nov 1st comes round you will have forgotten all about them and be all exctited to watch it on TV. ;-))

Much the same here, David. Prepared everything and the mist/fog rolled in.

Yup - got home, set up scope, went in to make tea, clouded over, went in to eat tea, looked as of cloud breaking up, went backin for a cuppa, then came out and it had actualy rained a bit (scope ok). Totally clear at midnight when I looked at bedtime! Grr!

I aborted plans to image me some moon with the SCT! Pesky forecasts! There were dribs and drabs but I want a nice long clear patch and the Moon nice and high! Seeing was too boiling to sneak in close when it was lower down. At least we had a quick look at Jupiter, the Moon and M42!

It's not looking good for solar! Supposed to be clear our way tonight, I am cold but that moon would be tempting for imaging, plus a crack at eyeballing Comet Lovejoy!

Saw only one but was out for just 30 mins with my bins.

Cloud stopped play again after a couple of hours but there was so little activity I was falling asleep by the end!
