Third target for the first night using the Atik 460EX - the Western Veil seemed a suitable target since I just can't make heads or tails from my OSC data. The most difficult target so far - until now. Data coming in fast from the mono! The trick now is to learn how to process mono properly. 1 hour 10 minutes Cropped and resized SW 80ED at f6.37 / 510mm Astro Physics 1600GTO ATIK 460EX Astrodon 3nm Ha filter OVL OAG and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

Target one for the first night using the Atik 460EX. A bias master has yet to be produced so some trails are visible here. They'll be gone soon. No flats or darks either. 2 hour 30 minutes - 10 minute subs Cropped and resized SW 80ED at f6.37 / 510mm Astro Physics 1600GTO ATIK 460EX Astrodon 3nm Ha filter OVL OAG and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

Target two for the first night with the Atik 460EX - it's of course the Crescent nebula, the target that started my cravings for a ha camera. As with the Eagle I hope to learn how to combine my old OSC RGB data with a ha layer. 1 hour 10 minutes - 10 minute subs Cropped and resized SW 80ED at f6.37 / 510mm Astro Physics 1600GTO ATIK 460EX Astrodon 3nm Ha filter OVL OAG and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

Although lacking in definition of the dust trail despite my best efforts, it was nonetheless quite fun processing this faint little nebula. 8 hours 16 minutes SW 120ED at f6.37 / 765mm Astro Physics 1600GTO SXVR-M25C OSC SW ED80 and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

We're gonna need a bigger scope! Well it's tiny but still quite pretty at short focal lengths. 2 hours 24 minutes SW 120ED at f6.37 / 765mm Astro Physics 1600GTO SXVR-M25C OSC SW ED80 and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

I couldn't come up with anything else to image whilst waiting for the Crescent nebula to come over the roof top so this was a little prelude. 1 hour 52 minutes SW 120ED at f6.37 / 765mm Astro Physics 1600GTO SXVR-M25C OSC SW ED80 and Lodestar guiding Nebulosity 3.0 Capture PHD Guiding - dithered AstroArt Preprocessing and Stacking PS CS5 Edit -

This is another discovery by Charles Messier in 1773. About 80 years later it was established that it was a spiral. The blob on the left is in fact another galaxy - NGC5195 that is interacting gravitationally with its neighbour. Stars don't crash into eachother, but galaxies do! This is a 7 hour total exposure, captured over three nights. 5 minute subs. Location central Lyon, France. A fellow SGL member did a far better job editing this TIFF than what I show here.
