  1. Brent. There was very little. U played with the wavelets in regi6 For the first image I don't think actually used any other software. From recollection it was 1000 frames Best thing to do us just experiment bi hot a really smooth finish on a capture at 60 frames per second which alot of people say don't use. And I've had good results at 5-1'15 Aswell. Best thing to do is just play with the settings The second image was 5-10 mins playing with contrast and brightness in paint shop pro I seen a tutorial where u get two identical images. Make one dark and one light. Set transparency to 50% n simply overlay them. Quite effective
  2. Brent. No problem I'll do that tonight. Space cowboy. You think rub auto align will make a big difference?
  3. i was so happy that the cassini was visible in the finished pic
  4. My the 15th, 10pm. my best attemot yet of imaging saturn i tried mars for a bit but to get a decent size i stack a 2x barlow in another 2x barlow and i just couldnt get it centred on the screen so i moved on Luckily my tracking was absoloutly perfect and i centred saturn in both barlows giving a nice size image there was very little drift. it was staying on screen for maybe 15-20 mins. at that mag that was brilliant let me know what you think or what i can do different to improve it i was using these settings with an IR/UV filter [Philips SPC 900NC PC Camera] Frame Divisor=1 Resolution=640x480 Frame Rate (fps)=15.00 Colour Space / Compression=YUY2 Exposure=-5 Brightness=73 Contrast=63 Saturation=-35 Gamma=12 ColorEnable=255 BacklightCompensation=0 Gain=38 thanks
  5. You may be on to something there! that could be why a new one was sent ill see if i can contact them to see what the issue actually was
  6. apologies for caps when the firmware is updated does the backlash compensation happen automatically or do you need to dial in values yourself? it was under guarantee and they sent a full replacement mount. ill assume it was no mistake, the motor had died
  7. AFTERNOON ALL MY 130 P WENT IN FOR REPAIR, THEY REPLACED THE MOUNT AND TO MY SUPRISE SENT ME ANOTHER SYNCSCAN HANDSET :-) I PLAN ON USING THIS WITH MY DOB WHAT EXACTLY NEEDS CHANGING WHEN UPGRADING TO GO TO? WILL I NEED TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE TO BE DOB SEPCIFIC OR WILL IT WORK OUT THE BOX? I USED THE 130 ONE BEFORE AND IT SEEMED OK BUT DIDNT SEEM TO COMPENSATE FOR TEH BACKLASH, I UNDERSTAND THIS CAN BE DONE MANUALLY? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED I PLAN ON HOPEFULLY USING IT WITH LAPTOP CONTROL WHEN I ORDER A SERIAL TO USB ADAPTER BASICALLY IVE SAVED ABOUT £200 AS I WAS GOING TO UPGRADE ANYWAY SO WANT TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT WHEN USING THE 130 CONTROLLER FROM ONE TO THE OTHER THE TRACKING AND GO TO WERNT QUITE RIGHT MAYBE A COUNTER WEIGHT FOR THE REAR OF THE DOB WOULD HELP? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED REGARDS TOM
  8. mines the auto/go to tho still worth upgrading or not? is it even possible with the motors?
  9. whats the lazy susan mod? thats the bearings right?
  10. yeh cheap enough aswell think ill try a circuler one over the next week with ply but the bolts n handles work absoloutly fine, maybe just some rubber feet id love a remote control one so i could level it with a controller but its guna be a while till i get round to making one like that thanks for the advice
  11. My street is ridiculuse. lights spilling out every where every 30 feet or so and all higher then the house. its not needed. they could get rid of half of them and it would still be highly illuminated
  12. not guna lie, worked a treat guys! admittidly, circular with three may be easier to level, but either way the go to was spot on
  13. MARKRYAN, those feet look great for the job i think ill make a circular one soon, the square on works tho, worth the effort so ill invest some time in a circular one, I used 2x2 to build the base so not sure how ill manager that with a cirular one, may just have 2 use a few layers of mdf on top of each other it is slightly annoying that they dont provide these as a standard part of the base i used this last night with the go to controller and by having it level it all worked great! tracking and go to were perfect
  14. tinker, eventually ill just reset the slabs i think and level. alot more practical id love to se eyour set p if you have a pic just visual or photographic to?
  15. im trying it tonight, it will either be great, or ill be uplading pictures of my bruises irculer would definately be alot better. thought id go simple n see if it works. getting clear so im off out ill geep u updated
  16. well i wa going to add to the base but it i didnt want to tamper with it as it is quite new the only good viewing spot in m garden is from the centr where i would need to take up several slabs around it and it seemed alot more work this seemed like the eaier alternative btu thats maybe why i couldnt find any instructions else where, because no one does it this way? lol
  17. so i set out to make a levelling base after finding it very hard to find instructions online on how to do it i hope this can help any one looking to do the same i had some old mdf in the shed so i bought some 2x2 to make a square frame and attached the mdf on the top this will stand as the basic base to stand the dob mount on i then cut some more 2x2 lengths and screwed them to the four corners of my stand i drilled holed through the ends of the 'legs' about an inch from the end i hammered in some long nuts that i got from wickeses, probly 3 times the length of the normal nut i also got 4 bolts to match, about 4 inches long by screwing upwards to the head of the bolt was facing downwards it meant untill i get some rubber feet these can stand as the load bearers i cut inch lenths of a cylidrcal wooden pole i had, a brom handle would work. using the same drill piece i used to drill the holes for the nuts i drill half way through the round ood, again i hammer in some nuts and screw them on to the top of the bolts, by putting one layer of masking tape around the blt it means it locks in place complete 4 times and you have a bas that can be altered from 4 corneres inorder to level your dob i hope this help heres some pics ill post links to the parts i bought from wickses
