  1. Hello all! I am head over heels for this hobby. I have been doing observing/astrophotgraphy for about 1 year. Any night I have permission from my wife to stare at the heavens I get excited and anxiety. My telescope is manual point(reason being, I want to learn to navigate the night sky on my own plus I have not built an automated system yet). I use a cannabalized gearhead webcam on my 8" Dob I built. My anxiety comes from the fact once my rig is up and I am aiming at Jupiter I play hell to optimize my settings on Sharpcap to capture a prime image. Then of course I start to tweak the capture with Regi6 and/or CS5. I have 1 Terra of data that I cannot improve the image. My anxiety is compounded by the fact I see these images from people that state "this is my first image" and mine still look like poo to me. Anyone up to the challenge of trying to polish up my data, please send me an email. Rock On
  2. Amazing! From my little experience it is pictures like that, that keep pushing you into this observing/preserving lifestyle. Trust me you will have some bad nights and frustration rolls over you. Kind of like golf. again very amazing.
  3. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I feel like Charlie Brown. ARGHHHHHHH! I have never captured anything that clear. Do not want to ruin your parade. Again, absolutely awesome.
  4. I am jealous! Very nice and maybe you should shy away from birds and aim for planets. Again awesome!
  5. I have tons of AVIs and stills that I would like to have people to try and clean up. If anyone is interested of attempting please send me an email. the images i see here are my goals. I feel I have great raw data but I cannot seem to accomplish. If interested please send me an email to revpatrickchand666@gmail.com.
  6. Those are spectacular! That is what I am trying to accomplish with my data and cant seem to make it. If interested I have images that I will be more than happy to share. In trade i want to know the technique.
  7. Why HELLO to everyone! What a surprise to have all these salutations. Tony69 has already graciously tried some magic on some photos. To all again Hello! and I cant wait to get great advice and to make new friends. However this site is relatively large and to navigate will be tricky. How do i post an image of my telescope for reply purposes?
  8. I have built an 8" Dob from the ground up. I have set my beauty up on an Equatorial. She is manual. Purpose being I wanted to navigate my way around the skies before I went to automation(which I am building right now in my garage). I made a crude mount for my POS ponit and shoot camera, then I tore apart a webcam and removed the CCD to adapt it to my eyepiece. I utilize AMcap as my capture software. Here is where I get frutrated. I have tons of raw data regarding the moon, Saturn and Jupiter. I have watched tutorials on tutorials regarding Registax and Photoshop but I never get a good final result. 1 problem i face is that my scope has to be manually adjusted while I fine tune parameters on the attached computer. that being said i have some erradict movement in my AVIs. I am asking if someone is willing to take some of my data and to see if they can clean it up for me? The people that have seen my work think thatit is awesome but I have seen better from worse on tutorials. Can someone help?
