Hi, I started with the same setup and converted my dob XT8 to a tracking scope. I bought an EQ mount, it was a HEQ5 at the time. To put the scope on the mount I got a couple of tube rings and a bar that locks onto the mount. I also had to think about a power source so I also got a little 12V car starter pack. Hope that helps.

That's a great result. My setup suffers from the same problem and have only ever managed to get around it by allowing the FOV to move while recording - which sort of averages it out. Nice work! Looks like this might be a birthday present for me! :-)

Excellent article, this paragraph is so very true:
"Lose your ego. Astronomy teaches patience and humility -- and you'd better be prepared to learn them. There's nothing you can do about the clouds blocking your view, the extreme distance and faintness of the objects you desire most, or the timing of the long-anticipated event for which you got all set up one minute late. The universe will not bend to your wishes; you must take it on its own terms."

Great article and it explains perfectly why the techniques we use in DSO observing work - thanks very much for posting that.

Might have to be careful with the phoning wife bit - sometimes Mrs LB is not aware of all of my purchases.
