  1. Again, thank you all for the welcomes.... Kevin "Beyondvision",i remember talking to you at CAS.Thanks for taking the time to talk to a complete "astrovirgin".Are you going to the December meeting? Paolo
  2. Well,i have to say, that was £10 well spent!!! Very old binos but they're fantastic. Thank you for your replies. Paolo
  3. Thanks for your advice Phil, I would never spend a substantial amount of money on binoculars without trying them 1st.However,since they were only a tenner for 10 X 50's with case,i decided to go ahead and buy them before someone else did (good ol' ebay). They certainly look the business, rather chunky and definitely old.The seller has impecable feedback and assures me they're in perfect working condition ...Will report back and let you know if i got the bargain of the century,or if i bought a right Paolo
  4. Hi all, Anyone know if Mark Scheffel Binos are any good?? I've never heard of them to be honest, but i've got the chance of getting a 2nd hand set for a very good price. Thanks Paolo
  5. Thank you all for your kind "Welcome's"....... Managed to get the moon in for the 1st time from my front window last night.....Marvellous!!! I even offered up my camera to the eyepiece and took a shot with rather surprisingly good results considering the inevitable hand shaking...Revelation eyepiece set on the way plus camera adapter...Looking forward to their imminent arrival... Casus, The "sunny" was a sarcastic wish :sunny: Viking, I went to the CAS meeting last Saturday.Really nice, welcoming bunch of people...I shall certainly become a member in December...I take it you're local?!!
  6. Hello everyone, Just joined up...I've recently bought my 1st telescope,Skywatcher 130PM.Been doing plenty of studying all about Planets, constellations,DSO's etc...and i can't wait to take the tele out for a good vewing as soon as the weather permits.Unfortunately,i live in an apartment (west facing) in the town centre so my views aren't all that good. However, planning on finding a star party or two if there's any around my area. I look forward to being a member of this rather fantastic forum. Laterz Paolo
