  1. Any rumors on who is trying to rebuild the firmware and manuals support database? Might have to involve members uploading their saved downloads. Orion and Meade.
  2. Depends on the input requirements of your scope. I have a Celestron PowerTank 17 that calls for 15 VDC for charging its battery, which normally outputs 12.7 VDC. The wall wart type adapter I have has an output rating of 15 VDC, though it measures 17.8 VDC on the multimeter. I have used this AC adapter to directly power the Vixen MD-6 hand controller for the RA drive on a Celestron Polaris mount. They fortunately both use the same barrel connector. It works here because the MD-6 uses a 7805 voltage regulator that will take up to 25 VDC. That said, an old instruction manual for the Polaris drive says the input requirement of a similar DD-3 controller is 7.5 - 12 VDC and parenthetically says that an AC adapter may also be used. Also be aware that not all AC power adapters are not built the the same. The level of AC ripple voltage on the output may vary. Some scope power supplies will handle this while others may not. Duane
