  1. Congratulations on your new Tak and bits'n'bobs! Clear skies ahead hopefully!
  2. YAY! Great idea! Now... go for another Df or hold out for the new DZ.....?!? Decisions....
  3. If you took out the optics and the baffles, you could use it as a protective shell for your Skywatcher 60mm! Upcycling is good!
  4. Yup, that's the thingy. Nicest little disc of branded aluminium I ever owned!
  5. Thanks for the offer. I'll give it a little longer before abandoning it though. Keep an eye out for a PM though.... !
  6. Yes, but I actually last remember seeing it inside, so.... I hope it does turn up. Otherwise my telescope will be utterly worthless.....
  7. Well, not directly, but it doesn't seem to have come out of her....yet....
  8. Tragedy has struck. My Takahashi FC100Df. My probably ultimate dream-scope, only in my possession a couple of years. Molly-coddled and cared for when not in use, but used as often as possible. It's almost too sad to recount. Sigh.... I've lost my official Takahashi 1.25" drawtube/eyepiece-holder plug. Whatever can I do? I've looked in all my cases, all my bags, in the dog's bed, in my cupboards and hidey-holes. No sign. Replacable? Ant PS I presume they only come in one colour so no complications a-la finder brackets?
  9. Great! Funny - I was wondering about that mount the other day!
  10. Great, thanks. 1.25" only as already have a 2". No binoviewer, but thanks for comments!
  11. Hi, Is there a thread or a page where the commonly availavle 1.25" Herschel Wedges are reviewed and compared? Am thinking I would like one for my 1.25" only scopes (I already have the older model Baader 2" one). Thanks. Ant
  12. Congratulations! I use a soft case for my FC100Df from Telescope Express, but I too would one day like to have a hard case for it. Ant
  13. Total cloud cover here unfortunately!
  14. Turn Left At Orion is good because it shows easy ways to find objects, and has illistrations of those objects that realistically depict how they will look through a small telescope. THere is no hyperbole, just good, accurate descriptions and sketches. It's a great beginners book, and helps get you into the habits of finding your way around the sky, with no artifically high expectations. Ant
  15. Or just confiscation of equipment for a while?
  16. I really like that! Might be a project for me some time. Very nice!
  17. Yes, I have a dew band I can do that with. Meant to give it more time today but have had other things to do, so hopefully one evening this week.
  18. Nice setup, Jeremy! And yes, we have to be prepared for the odd little jibe or poke! I certainly use my Tak too. It's my main observing telescope - my all-rounder. It gets taken out to fields, the garden, the Inverness observatory, and on trips too, sometimes, so it is definitely not a white elephant! Ant
