  1. Hi Carles, I was doing more troubleshooting last night. The RA motor does not track it hums/?/, I thought it was, I had the encoder display count up, as the motor is engerized, I think the ss2k trys to move the ra motor sidereal to the next encoder count, thats why I get the jump. I have ohm the connector just to make sure, I have ohn the pins connections between the boards and other things. I changed the setting to land no issues, but the tracking circuit is not being used. I changed out the ROMS and still the same issues. I'm thinking the motor driver chip may be bad, Jim
  2. Hi All, I am having a issue to a newly aquired SS2k. I have SS2ks total of 5 sorry 6 either ver 2.06 or 2.10 that I accumlated over 20 some years , I have motors and cables. Anyway my RA motor jumps acting as the motor and encoder are missing sync. Now I tested and used different cables and motors all with the same result. I tested in different modes, settings ect. Now when I got this the 3.6 bat was dead and that has been replaced. So this looks like new condition and Im wondering if a incorrect polarity supply may of damage either a chip or a cap. Now I also reseated the roms. I also inspected the boards and pins the past 2 nights for cracks connections ect. Now the motors will slew during goto, also the motor moves by the button commands, just when its tracking it will jump ahead a 1/4 turn around every 15 seconds. I have some experiance building stepper boards and other contols ect. Any suggestions what to troubleshoot will be great. Jim
