  1. Yes, I have a budget. Hoping <$500. The harmonics look great except for the price. Thanks.
  2. How good is this scope for AP? Is the f/8 too slow? I will be using a DSLR, so are there any components that I don't have to use? Eyepiece, mirror, finder scope? Trying to save weight. Thanks.
  3. What is the lightest EQ mount that has a load capacity of 15 pounds or more?
  4. Does anyone know of a 1.0 field flattener for the TS-Optics Doublet SD- Apo 80 mm f/ 7 besides the TSFlat25DEL? Impressions of this scope for AP ? Thanks.
  5. Does anyone make a field flattener that does not reduce the focal length for the AT72EDII? Orion? There is 1 for the Apertura, which I like. Any opinions on how these two scopes compare? Thanks.
  6. I'm looking for a tripod that can hold ~12 lbs at a height of only about 2 feet, without using a center column raised upward. Some of the ones I have seen can spread legs out, but in that position they are not strong or stable enough. Thanks.
  7. It's the Nikon Nikkor AI-S 400mm F5.6 *ED Lens. I've gone with wide-open and f/8 with 45 second subs.
  8. I have a Nikon D5500 with a 400mm prime lens (an older, MF one). Looking for a telecope to maybe improve imaging. A scope needs to be <5lbs, >400mm focal length, and <$700. So far I have found these few. Are either better than the pothers, and would they be better than my Nikon lens? -Sky-Watcher EvoStar 72 f/5.8 Apo (lightweight) -Tecnosky APO 70/420 FPL53 (lightweight, tho more expensive) -Astro-Tech AT70ED 2.8" f/6 ED -SVBONY SV503 Telescope, 70ED F6 -Orion ED80 80mm f/7.5 Thanks.
  9. I connect with a hand held cable. Checked time and location. It may be an encoder issue. Will test it n a few days. Thanks.
  10. After I polar align with EQ mount (AZ-GTi), the slew to my first target is way off (e.g 40+ degrees), even tho mount/camera were aligned to north star after polar alignment. Alignment is set to where Alt is my latitude and Az is 0 (and DEC = 90, RA=0). It was close to that even before polar alignment started. Any idea why? I expect it to be off, which is why u need camera alignment, but by so much? I use EQMOD to connect and NINA. And if successfully slew and center with plate solve, the indicated Az/Alt is still way off and not re-set to the current centered object; will NINA know to set tracking rate to the centered object, or will it track using the faulty current Az/Alt coordinates? Thanks.
  11. I have the AZ-GTi mount, using Synscan and NINA. I used NINA to 3 point PA. All 3 were plate solved. But, when I tried to point to an object using coordinates, the camera was way off. Sometimes 90 degrees. My bubble measure showed my mount with a DEC of >45 degrees, yet at my latitude it should be 40. Any ideas what may be happening? even Synscan and PHD2 seem off and where they point. Thanks. [mount faced 180 degrees off at set-up]
