I am thinking of getting the same Herschel wedge from TS-Optics and wanted to get your opinion on it since you have owned it for several years now. Did you eventually use the wedge with a plain ND3 instead of the stacked ND3+SC filter or did the stacked one perform better? Also, did you find the sun in white light interesting enough as a long term target? -
To answer my own question, the Virtuoso base comes equipped with an integrated 3/8'' thread, ready to be mounted on a tripod. The manually operated version lacks such a thread.

Hi @going-supernova, Could you please explain how you fitted the Virtuoso base on the tripod? Maybe add a photo or two of the base's screw and how this secures the scope on the tripod. I have the Heritage 150P on the manually operated dob base, so maybe the two models differ in that perspective.
