  1. So would a powermate be a better choice of the two but the barlow a cheaper option?
  2. Can get a 2nd hand Powermate for just over £100 or an ES Barlow for just under, i mentioned the Planets and DSO's as I've often been asked what I'm mainly looking at when asking about types of equipment. At the moment I have a Nirvana 16mm ep and the stck ones that came with the scope but want to start adding to my collection. I'm not that much into imaging at the moment but do have a Svbony camera which I've had a play around with
  3. Hi, I'm looking to get a decent Powermate or Barlow, budget is around £100, I have a Skywatcher 250 F 4.7 collapsable Dob and have been using it to view the planets but also want to get into viewing DSO's. Could either get a ES barlow or a Tele vue powermate but unsure which to go for or there maybe another choice that I haven't considered Thanks
  4. Thanks for the quick reply, I did have these in my basket at one point, would these be good for viewing objects other than the planets, have a synscan mount so tracking shouldnt be a problem if I get it set up properly
  5. Am looking to upgrade my stock eyepieces on my 10" flex tube Dob, this is my first scope and want to spend less than £100. Has been a bit confusing to say the least on what to get, was going to go for the Celestron x-cel but think I've settled on the Explore Scientific 52 degree LER. Mainly observing the planets at the moment but want to get to see some Galaxies as well, Good choice or is there something better Thanks
  6. Thanks everyone for the quick replies and being so helpful, hopefully I will be all set up and ready to go tomorrow night after following all your advice
  7. Hi, thanks for replying, yes it does have that handset, it seems that my mistakes have been setting the clock at +1 and choosing No for daylight saving, have put the location in as you say, I was tring to use 2 star alignment, will try again tomorrow night
  8. Hi, its the Dobsonion wooden mount, not sure of it official name and the power source is the Skywatcher 17ah power tank
  9. Thanks, will try choosing yes, as for location it asks for DMS, not sure what the decimal is
  10. Thanks for the quick reply, date is correct, think its the US format where the month comes first, as for the time, I'm in the UK have selected +1 hour and set the time as it is by my watch, should I select yes or no when asked for daylight saving? thanks
  11. Hi, just got a Skywatcher 250 flex on a Alt-Azimuth goto mount, no matter how many times I check the settings are correct I cant get it to align, when it slews to the 2 brightest stars it always about 90 degrees out and pointing in the wrong direction. I've checked the Longitude, Latitude, Time and Date numerous times. Also when I park the scope it go's to a random position even when I choose "Park" in current position it still moves to another, any help much appreciated thanks
