  1. hi im seeking help im looking into potentially upgrading my telescope right now i have a celestron lcm 114 i have 2 other optical tubes 1 is celestron powerseeker 114 and the other is an older version of the skywatcher explorer 130mm. im unsure if im doing the imaging right for planets camera im using for the planets is ZWO ASI120MC-S. i want to put a bit more focus into capturing deep sky objects and use my camera a nikon d3100 at the moment with just a lense untracked im not entirely sure if my expectations are abit too high for what i want to achieve but ill share some examples i have a budget of around 300-400 i wanted to try here before spending more money on an already growing set of optical tubes. would really apprechiate some advice and any reccomendations
  2. would just like to thank you after a final clearing of the sky i was able to try one of my optical tubes the heaviest one correctly balanced and it works a treat i really appreciate your help
  3. i recently found up 2 optical tubes that i had totally forgot i had and was wondering what mount i should be getting for these the tubes are a skywatcher 130 explorer and a celestron powerseeker 114. i currently have an celestron lcm 114 goto and pretty sure the tubes would be too heavy on that mount i have a budget around £500-600 but dont really want to spend too much.
  4. thanks guys i think thats helped so much i didn't realise there was a difference in processes in planets vs dso so thats probably where i have been going wrong. the software im using is sharp cap along side with registax and dso (which i got to give deep sky objects a go). as said im getting really good results with the planets im pretty impressed with it. ill give my dlsr full frame a go and see how that plans out you have saved me from forking out for a new telescope ill put that on hold for now and check out that book. the image of m27 gives me hope as ive only been getting black images so it tells me i have definitely been doing something wrong so thank you.
  5. hi there i recently got a ZWO ASI120MC-S and wanted to use this for mainly planetary and deep sky objects the planetary seems to be fine i have no problems at all. the deepsky objects how ever seem to be struggling with, the stars dont seem to show up on the viewing software im using. im not entirely sure if its something im doing wrong or if its the telescope. im using the telescope that i am using is an celestron 114 lcm but do plan on upgrading with a budget of around £400 i would really appreciate your help
