  1. Simplest way to overcome lack of inward focuser travel is to use your Barlow. This will bring the focal point nearer to the camera, and you should get it to focus. Downside is that it obviously doubles the magnification. The other thing I've tried is to seeks the ep holder on the focuser draw tube unscrews. Might be a chance that your t ring will screw straight into it. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  2. When I bought the Telrad 3 months ago I aligned it on a church tower a mile and a half away. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  3. Mine is up the top right next to the existing finder. That's on a small reflector. Works just fine Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  4. Can usually get it with the 130 newt. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  5. Got mine for Christmas. Brilliant no frills, just the job when used alongside a Planisphere. Shows how to find stuff and what to expect to see. Like the spiral bound bit, makes it very practical when using outdoors.
  6. Hi Dony, hope you find the forum useful Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  7. Yeah I can attach the t ring directly to the focuser without using the nosepiece . Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  8. Yup the barlow seems to work. Thanks for that. There is a direct thread as well 'under' the end piece of the focuser, but I don't have anything else to fit that. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  9. Perfect...Theres a church tower I can use about 1.5 miles away
  10. Another thought..is there any value in trying to focus on something in daylight to see if I can get anywhere close to half decent focusing? At least so I can try out different setups to see if Im in the right ball park?
  11. Aha! I shall check that right away Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  12. I've also looked into upgrading the focuser, and to be honest I d be better off buying a new scope on a better mount, and using the 130 to take on holiday in the car! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  13. It did seem that outward travel was the issue, but that contradicts everything else Ive read so far. So next clear night I'm going to take a series of shots across the range to confirm. I'm going to make a Bhatinov as well. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  14. I bought a K-m about three years ago, which I think was replaced by the K- x. Absolutely love it, superb camera. Just annoying it seems everywhere stocks Nikon, Sony and Canon, but Pentax bits are much harder to find. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  15. Thanks for that, will try the barlow next time out. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  16. Just bought a Revelation kit. For the money it's very good value. The ep s are the same as the Meade 4000 series apparently. As for the filters: it has a moon filter, very good; colour filters interesting results on Jupiter. I suppose it depends on expectations. I wasn't expecting super quality for £120, but I was suprised at how good they are, and Ive seen for myself which sizes I like for minimal outlay. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  17. I have a DSLR, t ring, t adaptor set it all up. So the t adaptor was put into the telescope's focuser. Had to have the focuser right out to get anywhere near a decent image, but still can't get focus. Would I need an extension tube or something? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  18. I was given a years membership to the Herstmonceaux Science Centre as a present. I went there for the first time today. Absolutely fascinating, and I really can't wait to go to a viewing evening down there. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  19. Thanks keV, I think my eq2 will just about do it Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  20. That is absolutely amazing. Given me the inspiration to get my camera setup sorted out Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  21. I use the 3 stars perpendicular to the 'main line' of Andromeda. I look at the constellation, find the line of 3 stars and it's right there. It is a smudge and takes a long time to start seeing any shape Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  22. Was all set up and ready to go last night. Watched Have I Got News For You. Went back outside, polar aligned... small cloud, clear sky, bit more cloud, clear patch, blanket of cloud. Start packing up, then WOW amazing views of Andromeda , well worth the wait. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  23. I bought fishing wellies for work.... Really toasty, Ron Tompson I think, have a sort of polystyrene lining . Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
  24. What scope are you using? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Skywatcher 130. 9mm 12mm 15mm 20mm 32mm revelation eps. Meade 10 x 50 bins.
