  1. That is a super image with lots of detail, nicely captured. Just a suggestion, I would selectively darken the background quite a bit to give it some depth and make it more moody, but otherwise a very nice image.
  2. Thanks very much for your kind words, it isn't often you get something accepted like this, thanks again. Brian, I normal adjust colours in PI using colorMasks, although I think this image was done in PS just using Channel Mixer, and yes it a fair bit of fiddling to get it juts right.
  3. This is an image of NGC7000 The North American Nebula in HOO that I recently entered into the RPS's Science Photographer Of The Year Competition, didn't win it but was selected down to the last 10 out of 3000+ images, and my image is being exhibited at the London Science Museum during October to January. This is the newspaper release of the exhibition and the shortlisted images https://www.theguardian.com/science/gal ... -shortlist
  4. Nice shot Brian, yep I like that a lot
  5. Yes an amazing image with the outer shell that you don't often see in such detail
  6. very very nice, the contrast is perfect and brings it alive
  7. Sorry Adam....this comment was NOT aimed at you, it was just a general comment regarding the general quality of some images posted........
  8. Very nice image that I think warrants RGB adding, it is the perfect base for an awesome image I agree with you Stuart, its a pity others don't take note of it......and as a wildlife photographer once said to me "People will only remember your last BAD image"
  9. Yes I like that processing Brian, good colours and contrast control, maybe just get rid of the green tinge at the bottom left
  10. You don't I don't think you need any more SII as anything above 35/40 subs is a law of diminishing returns and you are not going to improve noise reduction that much. A longer exposure time maybe, but not more subs.
  11. Oh yes, I like that, perfectly handled and coloured SHO
  12. That is the best image (the top image) I have ever seen taken with a DSLR and at such a low ISO setting, the detail and colours are absolutely brilliant.
  13. Yes you will get them all the time randomly
  14. Alan, Have a look at the mosaic function in https://telescopius.com/ is absolutely brilliant
  15. Nice image, well processed and the dust shows extremely well
  16. What has happened to the colours and the stars?
  17. I like both versions, the NB processing is giving very good bright colours perfectly balanced for NB pallets. Do you have a slight gradient problem in the bottom left hand corner?
  18. That's better Emil, and a slightly darker centre I cannot detect with measurement, all channels are about 0.1 at the centre and at the corners
  19. A very beautiful image perfectly taken and processed, love the colours, the well controlled contrast, and I just love that dust
  20. I am glad it worked for you, its the workflow I now use
  21. I have measured the background and it seems pretty constant to me, so I will go along with Carole's comment. Maybe you could just darken the background a bit, but otherwise an very nice image.
  22. Nice image but yes I agree on the noise. I always use MureDenoise on the Ha, OIII and SII masters just before they are combined, however, there may be problems with MureDenoise and variable gain cameras. This article refers https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=9206.0
