  1. Fair point, for that I'd need a case.... Any recommendations?!
  2. Hi All, Another amateur question from me! Is there a preferred angle to store the scope at when not in use? I.E. is it best to let the scope face downwards, as I have seen for example the Celstrons do? Assume it might put less stress on the mount clutch and motor? I read a good tip of when allowing it to cool outdoors the best to point a mac down, so that dew drips off (assume best to cover the top/back too to stop dew running into the screw holes and diagonal mounting). Thanks!
  3. Got it, left mounted when looking from the front. Sticking at 3.36! Thanks again @ScouseSpaceCadet and @AstroNebulee
  4. Seems to have worked, is now showing f/w v 3.36.A5, it might have been that before! Next silly question, am assuming this is right hand mounted, so could upgrade to v 3.37?
  5. Aye, Worst case is its not usable for a few days..! Is it best to do a step upgrade, to a lesser version first, then to the latest version? Might give it a go this afternoon... Thanks in advance
  6. Ah yes, thank you. I now recall that dongle being mentioned. Whats the worst that happenes if i try over Wi-Fi... I have to purchase a dongle...!
  7. Hi, I read in another chat about the Wi-Fi dongle and official cable, but sort of vexed at having to purchase a Wi-Fi dongle for a device already Wi-Fi enabled! I toyed with building my own cable with a resistor bridge thingy to drop the USB voltage to 3.3v. Maybe i risk updating over Wi-Fi then purchasing said ccableif it bricks...!
  8. Thanks @AstroNebulee and@ScouseSpaceCadet Appreciate the tip to switch off thd mobile data. I'll admit i didn't find the info in the instructions but i didnt loom that hard. My mount is running the 3.6.A5 f/w. I don't have the cable or wifi module, so would rely updating to the latest version via my laptop via wifi, but apprehensive as have read it can brick the mount..
  9. Hello All, First post after months of reading through threads which helped me purchase a heritage 130p and the skymax 127 and az-gti package. My what a scope, the moon was literally in touching distance last night. Letting people know there seems to be compatability issues with the synscan app and non samsung phones. After an hour of frustration with a HTC 11/Android 9 not being able to connect, irrespective of location settings and permissions, a Samaung S7/Android 8 connected first time. Also confirmed connecivity via a Win10 laptop. After more faffing i narrowed the HTC/Andriod 9 issue down to having to disable the mobile data setting (phone will only work with calls and SMS), so can only deduce its a hardware bug. I informed the seller abd asked for it to be fed back to Skywatcher. Tested with 2 app versions. Mount is running the .A35 f/w version as not yet brave enough to upgrade the f/w based on others experiences. Posting to save others frustration. Cheers!
