    M20 Triffid LRGB small

The higher sensitivity of the SX SuperStar helped capture a bit more feint detail, but let down by poor PA. Shot during twilight before it set behind the trees around 30 minutes later.
  2. At 17° above the horizon and about 30 minutes available before the tree's branches got in the way, this was never going to be easy, or produce a great result! Still, got it at last!!! EOS1Dm3 + Televue 0.8x reducer on Orion 102mm doublet refractor.
  3. Widefield using the un-modded Canon 1D3 and the Televue 0.8x Reducer / flattener on the 102mm
  4. Still very much a work in progress, and a lot of the data may have to be thrown due too poor Polar Alignment and focus, causing bloated, elongated stars... For the week the nebula was rising around 25° above the horizon from my 50°N latitude, and only for a short time at that.

    M27 Zoom Sequence

    From the album: July 2013

Combination of the Canon 70-200 (at 100mm) for the widefield, Canon 1D3 and SX SuperStar on the Orion 102mm f/7 for the mid and zoom images. Widefields were processed in DSS, the LRGB frames from the SS captured, calibrated and processed in Maxim. I had mounted the 70-200 to the 102mm, capturing both wide and zoom during the same session, adding to the mid-zoom images captured previously.
  6. Looking forward to my next astro session in march!

    Minitower 2012 B-Sides

The best of the rest, as I was learning to image in LRGB. Reduced exposure times is a big problem for these images (mainly due to Alt/Az, the iOptron Minitower is not the greatest photographic platform). The FoV from the SX SuperStar is very narrow (it is just a guider / planetary camera after all) so a lot of objects do not fit very well.
