  1. Hello, Thanks for your reply. I'll check this out, however CCD inspector only shows a tilt of 14%, so I'm not sure if it's this.
  2. Hi guys, I need some help with my imaging! I have recently purchased a Skywatcher 130PDS and SW Coma Corrector, however I am getting elongated stars in my images (see attached). The coma corrector has 55mm of backfocus, and sits in a train as follows - focuser > CC > OAG > Filter Drawer > ASI533MC Pro Camera. As you can see in the image, the brighter stars are not so much of an issue however the smaller stars are. Collimation is fine, as is focus. Could this be a spacing issue, coma, or something else? I'm at a loss! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Image details: 1.5hrs 120s Subs L-Pro Filter
  3. Hi guys, Thanks for the info. The clips were indeed pretty tight to the mirror. I've loosened them so will test it as soon as it's clear out next!
  4. Hello, I recently purchased a Skywatcher 130PDS and go to use it for the fist time last night, however, all of my stars are triangular. Am I looking at pinched optics here? If so, I can adjust the primary mounting plates to relieve some tension but I want to be sure in case there is anything else at play. Any help would be appreciated, cheers.
  5. Hello, This may come across as an obvious or simple question, but one I'd just like some clarification on. I understand the need for a delay between shots with a DSLR as it allows the sensor to cool, but is this necessary with a cooled CMOS camera? Does it offer any advantage? Out of habit, I've continued to delay my shots by a few seconds but I feel like this could be wasted time with my CMOS camer, especially since there is a small delay while dithering too. Any advice would be appreciated, cheers!
  6. Hello, I'm looking for some advice with combining different filter data in PixInsight. I currently have a few hours of the horsehead nebula using the Optolong l-extreme filter, and a few hours with the L-Pro because I forgot to swap it out! I also have relevant darks flats and bias frames. I'm also using an ASI533MC Pro. I'm using the same exposure time for both. What would be the best way to combine these in PixInsight? I usually use the WBPP script, but is this the best way? Would it be better to stack them individually and combine them using pixel math? Any help would be appreciated!
