  1. I really do hope it does peak again.
  2. Hi, I have data of the Rosette Nebula in both HA and OIII and I would like to create a Bicolor image by making a synthetic green. I have been following this http://www.starrywonders.com/bicolortechniquenew.html however I have a problem when I get to 11 C. This red is created fine in part A, the green is then fine in B but when I try to make it blue in part C, it is still green and will not change. I may have been doing something wrong as this is my first time at DSO processing. If anyone could help then it would be great even if it is just a suggestion that may not work. Also, if more information is needed then I will be ver grateful. Thanks in advance, Jack
  3. Thanks for that and I will try the settings when I do it again
  4. Hi Don, The settings used are as follows: Brightness-55/100 Gamma-48/100 Gain-39/100 Shut-1/1500 FPS-30 Also, I am not sure why the image is slightly blue. Hope this helps, Jack 1187.tif
  5. Hi Don, I am a bit busy at the moment so I am unable to post the image and settings. I will try and do it tomorrow if I have some free time. Sorry for the delay
  6. Nice images. Are you planning on adding more data as I think you could get some great images with some more subs
  7. If you keep looking on the NASA website, you can find out when a rocket with dock with the ISS. The day before it is due to dock is a great chance to see it 'chasing' the station as you will see the bright blob followed by a slightly dimmer one.
  8. Thanks for the thought. I have just looked at it again and it seems to be running fine. Could the cold weather when outside have anything to do with it?
  9. Hi, I was out the other night and I noticed a problem with the motor on my mount. What seems to be happening is that the small gear on the motor seems to slip sometimes and it's teeth do not interlock with the main gear on the mount. At times it is ok and is fixed by pushing the motor from the bottom onto the gear but I can't keep doing this however as it makes the mount wobble. I know it is a poor mount as it is quite cheap but it would be great if I could fix. I will try and film it but sometimes it is ok while other times it just doesn't want to work correctly. Sorry for the basic description but it is late and I can't describe it that well. Thanks in advance
  10. This is my second attempt I believe at trying to capture the station. My first go ended with a white blob with no detail due to not the best settings. After looking around more, I have managed to find some better settings although they still aren't the best. I can't remember the settings off the top of my head but will have a look tomorrow. This is just one of many other frames I have with some wavelets being used. Any help would be fantastic and also feedback
  11. Hi, This is an image of Jupiter from the 18th to capture Io's Shadow and the GRS. I managed to get it thankfully which I am very pleased about. I used the settings below to get the image: [Philips SPC 900NC PC Camera] Frame Divisor=1 Resolution=640x480 Frame Rate (fps)=10.00 Colour Space / Compression=YUY2 Exposure=-7 Brightness=57 Contrast=21 Saturation=-2 Gamma=0 ColorEnable=255 BacklightCompensation=0 Gain=63 I have used quite high wavelets to bring out detail but this has brought in noise. The conditions weren't the best which a light layer of mist/fog with not many stars visible.
  12. Hi, I imaged the moon for the first time on Monday night and I decided to do a mosaic. I looked around for some settings so they may not be correct but it is my first try so it was try and trail. The mosaic is around 8 images I think but sadly I missed out a small piece which has left a gap. The settings I used are: [Philips SPC 900NC PC Camera] Frame Divisor=1 Resolution=640x480 Frame Rate (fps)=15.00 Colour Space / Compression=YUY2 Exposure=-9 Brightness=40 Contrast=19 Saturation=-4 Gamma=5 ColorEnable=255 BacklightCompensation=0 Gain=34 Any help with the settings or anything else but be great
  13. Fantastic images. Where abouts in Iceland did you go? I went and although I didn't see the lights, it is a great place to visit especially Reykjavik.
  14. There was a discussion somewhere on the forum about a weird satellite and this name popped up. The orbit it does is absolutely incredible and suggests it may be out of control or just not there at all. I say this as I googled the name of this and it came up saying it was launched in the 1980's I believe and was reentering the atmosphere in 2011 or 2012. Maybe some more research might find something out
  15. That is what I was thinking as if something did go wrong it can be replaced quite easily.
  16. Hi, Firstly I would like to say I have not been keeping viewing this thread much so it is likely my answer is somewhere in here. My question is would it be possible to do the lx mod for the Xbox cam or is this only possible for the SPC880NC? Thanks in advance
  17. Didn't see this so would love to find out what it is and to see if it is visible again.
  18. Superb image. Also great to see some red bands around the edge which I have forgotten what it is called but well done
