  1. David, used mine for a short time yesterday to test it out, I had expected the polarising filter to make a greater difference to the brightness of the view when rotated during viewing? Mark
  2. Altair Herschel wedge. Looking forward to viewing some sun.
  3. Excellent images Pete, can you explain how you achieve full disk images with your setup?
  4. A few new bits of kit thanks to Zoltan @365 Astronomy for quick service and free delivery. Hope to improve on my lunar images with ASI 174mm and IR 685. Also added an L Ultimate filter for my DS imaging. Roll on August
  5. Watched it, found it really drawn out bit like the other videos, you're not getting my money Rory for astrokit and a holiday for you and you're pals. 😄
  6. Hello Neil, Kostas. Thanks for the reply. I've been following your Venus images with interest and was considering UV filter. My evening and morning view of Venus is quite limited from the my observatory so wondered about imaging in daylight. Kostas do you get ant ghosting with your filter?
  7. Great detail captured Neil. Can I ask how these filters fair while imaging Venus during the day? Mark
  8. I wonder how common it is for the RA adjustment screw to become loose on this mount? Reason I say this is that Ive owned my SA GTI for nearly a year and used it a lot, during normal operation I do loosen the DEC axis so I can view through the polar scope but rarely touch the RA adjustment due to my set up. Adam was this an issue from when you received the GTI or noticable over tim?, something I may need to watch out for. Mark
  9. You could ask your courier to declare the goods under OPR - Outward Processing Relief, when the mirror is returned to the UK you should only be liable to may Duty and Tax on the work done to the mirror. Mark
  10. Im not sure the raptors can be throttled down sufficiently for landi on the Moon / Mars. I do recall seeing a render showing the Drago thrusters being used to land "gently " on the moon.
  11. A beautiful image of M51 & companion ! Mark
  12. Lovely set of images , Enjoy your videos Mark, look forward to this one. Mark
  13. Hopefully you will have the observatory up an running soon. I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Quark, it was an image you took a few years back that had me wanting one. Stunning image.
  14. Lovely image Stephen.. do you still image with the Quark?
  15. Well I noted my sig was incorrect! I too have the 2600mc.... With my framing I cut out the bright star Tejat which looking at your image means ive sacrificed the interesting part of the nebula to shoehorn in M35? Less would have been more. Regarding the spacecat, I only recently noticed that if you release the focus lock too much which I did due to using an EAF for autofocusing , the whole front lens assembly can wobble which can give dodgy stars, otherwise im quite happy. Not sure the 55mm back focus needs to be that precise with a Petzval ? Mark
  16. Lovely image, I'm working on the same area myself. Same kit but slightly different framing to include M35.
  17. Couldn't agree more. It was a fine sight in the Newt also.
  18. A few nights back I got set up with the intention of adding more data to a dso image. Decided to turn the scope to the moon and try the video mode on the ASI Air. Surprised how well the rays were visible so took a short video. Spacecat 51 ZWO2600MC . L Xtreme filter SW GTI MOUNT
