Sorry edit button seems kaput!! I meant to say that I usually use AS!3 for all my solar processing but I found that AS!2 gives totally different results so that's the one I used for these. Into ImPPG for sharpening, PS for false colouring.

25-06-2020 White Light AZEQ6-GT 152mm Tecnosky 3.8 Solarfilm + Baader Green Filter Point Grey IMX174 I was just trying different filters in single & combined with a Baader Green, haven't got a clue what 'combo' those were though 😀, my first FD where I didn't do a mosaic as well.

Sorry to hear that fella, how is the 2nd hand one image wise ? I could do with a prom version or something around the 0.8A area would be nice.

Cheers Dave, yeah long time no see fella, after last years washout I kinda lost hope for a while, it's been very very quiet & then this. Very lucky catch, right time / right place n all fella. That region has gone quiet for now mate but as you know surprises do happen so keep on trying & keep your peeps peeled 😉

Try shinning a very bright LED torch on it, it the ITF is failing you will see it clearly, sometimes rusts in rings from the outer edge in (because of lack of edge coating protection maybe) or in little patches, contact supplier they may well fix it for you. Atb

Sky-Watcher SolarQuest - New Solar Tracking / GoTo Mount
Ewan replied to FLO's topic in Sponsor Announcements and Offers
Great product for those wishing to get into solar imaging if they don't already own a mount that is (stating the obvious I know), hope it goes well FLO -
Nice Charl.........nice, I am praying for a clear spell over the weekend, just hope it's not only when I am out shooting ;-)

A great thread started, thanks Martin. A few of my better attempts. Thanks everyone & all the best for the future.

Thought I would join in the fun :-) My Technosky 152mm bought originally for Quark Solar use but i will be trying out some other targets as well. This scope is the same as the Altair, Lyra & TS model so should be readily available. I have been told these scopes have the same cell as the 152mm Lunt costing many thousands more (the filter being where all the £'s go i guess) so i am hoping first light should be something worth waiting for. First time I have mounted this on the AZEQ6, the mount seems to handle it pretty well, made sure it was well locked down though. Made my 80mm look like a finder scope, now to work out the best way to fit the guider i have then im in business.

Well done Olly, you got it done in the end. I knew it would be good but that's going to be a classic astro pic somewhere soon. Stunning does not even start to describe the detail in there. Fantastic work, the both of you, dedication to the last degree.
