  1. Are there any filters that can reduce it?
  2. Also, should i use a barlow lens to capture the planets? here is my attempt at jupiter. you may notice it has a purple hue,..
  3. so i managed to take my telescope out tonight as the skies were reasonably clear. I have to say, I'm fairly disappointed. I connected my Canon 550d and snapped a few shots. I am using a heq5 pro mount. most stars were ok, albeit out of focus. I struggled to get focus on the brighter stars as when i turned the focus wheel the stars turned a bright purple? even my shot of Jupiter had a purple glare around it? it is a bresser ar152L any advice? thanks
  4. Hello everyone I captured some solar this morning and I’m trying to stack. But this keeps happening ? So I’m unsure what to do lol The end stack is just loads of images on top of each other ? So I must be doing something wrong
  5. Hi everyone. i just got a Bresser 152L 1200. Wondering what mount I would need for imaging. I’ve seen a few heq5. Wondering if that would be heavy enough for the scope. I have an eq5 pro but I don’t know if that is pushing it.
  6. Good evening everyone following my recent post about my dobsonian, someone has offered to swap me for a Bresser 152L 1200. Does any one have any experience with these? Visual and imaging? thanks!
  7. Thanks for the replies everyone. so those platforms, do they prevent star trailing ? For up to one hour? If I’m reading correctly.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I have seen those. It’s just, I want to capture the planets. I’m unsure if it’s even doable tbf
  9. I have a 12” dob. Wondering if there is any goto kits available or DIYs? or if anyone builds them? thanks
  10. Thanks everyone. So it’s the same except for the logo on the side?
  11. I’ve got a telescope and been told it’s a SW 80ED DS though the graphic on the side of the OTA looks different and doesn’t say 80ED like the images on the internet? If it is an 80Ed what’s the different between this and the DS Pro? if it’s not an 80ED what is it ? Lol. thanks
  12. How do I know if my mount has backlash? the gears are moving nicely. Just I’ve had problems with tracking so want to pinpoint it. The video I’ve attached is the mount tracking a random object at 0.5x. IMG_0127.MOV
  13. If I reduce the calibration step, it doesn’t notice any movement and as such will do about 50 steps in each direction. ive been told it should be done in around 5 steps?
  14. Hello last night I was setting up my scope and when it came to the guidescope it just would not calibrate. I got as high as “west step 50”before I stopped and gave up. What should the settings be ? This is what I had them at last night thanks
  15. I’m using a skywatcher 130pds with an asi183MC pro and ASIAIR
  16. Hi everyone I captured this last night. NGC 3718. Over 3 hours. Though I’m aware this target requires a lot more time, I wasn’t aware until afterwards. The other image is of Orion, my first image back in December last year. It’s fun to look back at the progress no matter how small it may be.
  17. Hello took some images tonight of messier 1. Came to photometric colour calibration in siril and when I type in the object and press find nothing happens? Each time the cursor spins but nothing ? could this be an issue with the online star database? or is it just my pc? I uninstalled, checked firewall permissions etc. nothing.
  18. Hey. I have a skywatcher 200p and a asi183. I'm aware this isn't a great match so I came across a 130pds for £60. Thought I'd give it a chance. I'm quite happy with it to be fair. This is one hour integration. What filter would be best for more colour?
  19. I have an asi183 so binning is beneficial? Due to oversampling
