Oops, sorry - Peter already mention virtualDub - apologies
-
I had the same problem in Registax4 but not with 5 - however, download virtualdub which is free - load your avi into that then simply resave it as AVI - this removes any compression that registax doesn't recognise - worked for me - and, it is a great way of chopping up avi's should you need to

The scope thought it was close to the equator somewhere around the Bahamas, not Newcastle.
So do I (not that I'm actually in Newcastle either!)

I had terrible problems with mine when I first got it - would try all the different alignments and it would seemingly go off with a mind of its own, I also found that it wouldn't let me change the long/lat settings, so did a factory reset of the software and voila - no problems since

It allows webcams to collect light for longer (Long eXposure MODification) and thus behave like astronomical CCD cameras.
I thought it would be something like that - so, can you mod an existing SPC900 to use it in both modes?

Apologies for the newbie question here .....but.......
What is the LX mod and what does it do?

He's certainly colour blind - bang goes his chance of fighter pilot! but the 3D thing is real - but to what extent it affects him is difficult to say - he's now 22 and getting on fine

Interesting - His eyes I'm told work independantly of each other, he's been to see 3D films with his friends but says it's just the same as watching a normal 2D film - surely not a result of cultural intervention? Don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with you - in fact I'm interested what you have to say - even if I'm moving a bit off topic

Well, clearly he does if he can catch a ball!
I agree, I don't think it's as plain as described by the Doctors, but it was interesting he was shown an image, and within it you could see the 3D affect of a butterfly - but he just couldn't see it - it was just a jumble of colour to him

I love this place! What a great article, Ian, Thank you
It's interesting what you say about the brain adapting to what information it receives, my son apparently has no 3d vision (he was the only person I know who chose to go to see Avatar in 2d!), but he can catch a ball, drive a car etc as his brain compensates for the lack of depth of vision.
Thanks once again
