  1. Tried a mock alignment (know roughly where Dubhe and Procyon were last night). It seems to be working now. Thanks for your help )
  2. Oooh, I did input the date wrong... Will try a mock alignment... Thanks
  3. I double checked everything, even triple checked! Time was entered i 24 hour format (20:00.00). Used location from Google Earth. Not sure what else it could be...
  4. Hi I bought a Skywatcher Skymax 127 goto in January. With the clear skies this week, we had our first go at trying to align, via brightest star and 2 star alignment. We soon ran into a problem, as the handset has got the stars in the wrong position. It was saying that Vega was in the southern sky (at roughly 8pm), Arcturus and Saturn Were both in the western sky (again at 8pm). When we tried to align first with Dubhe, it then slewed way over to the west for Arcturus. We then slewed back to the east for it, centered it, pressed enter and was told alignment failed. Was hoping someone may know why it is doing this? Thank you
  5. Had a bit of an issue last night. First time I tried to align scope. When it asked for location, I wasn't sure how to input it. These are my co-ords Latitude = 52.4646, Longitude = 0.5427 Lat = 52 degrees, 27.9 minutes North Long = 0 degrees, 32.6 minutes East How should they be input to the handset? Sorry to ask such a 'stupid' question :-)
  6. Hmmm... Think I'll do the opposite. Not use it, unless I have to. I'll let you know if it works.
  7. DO you need Stellariumscope? What does it do? I got mine working without it (Just practising, not for 'real').
  8. Hi, hope your well. The USB Converter came yesterday, finally got it setup. Tried to get on the sun (just to see where it points), it was nowhere near. Do I need to align first? Or does it need to be pointed in a certain place? Thanks
  9. Thanks foR all the info. One last question, Is this - USB to Serial 9Pin Male Adaptor : USB Adaptors : Maplin - the right one? Hope you get clear nights soon
  10. I'd also like to use Stellarium to track objects with my scope. The problem I have is, my netbook doesn't have anywhere to plug the cable that came with the scope into. Is it possible to get one that'll plug into a USB?
  11. Thanks for the advice. Will have to count out DSO's. Thank you.
  12. It's a SynScanTM AZ GoTo Computerised Alt-Azimuth HD Go-To Mount. Can I use 'focal reducer'?
  13. Thanks for the advice. Where does the lead plug into to control the shutter?
  14. Hi all, hope your well? I have just been given my Mum's Canon 450d camera, and wondered if it's suitable for astrophotography? The telescope I have, is the, Skywatcher Skymax 127. Are these compatible for astrophotography? If they are, what else will I need (t-ring, filters etc)? I would like to take pictures of our moon, as well as planets and DSO's. Thanks for all your help.
