  1. A decade ago! That made me realise I’ve been doing this for quite a while now….and I still don’t know what I’m doing lol.
  2. What did you go with in the end. I went for the Mira and I'm ver pleased wit it. Have owned 2 W/O in the past and its on par with them in every way but the price tag. Save your self a few quid and go with the Mira. You won't regret it.
  3. Any one got any thoughts on this flattener to use this scope at its native 540 FL. Ive got the 0.8 reducer but really interested in using it at 540. its a really good combo with a micro 4/3 sensor. Is this going to be the best option. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/stellamira-telescopes/stellamira-2-field-flattener-with-m48-adapter.html
  4. For what it’s worth my images above are with the 0.8 flattener but it is with a 4/3 size chip so can’t really say with APC or full frame. If I get a chance I will stick my full frame on but I think this flattener if only good up to APC size sensors when you read the blurb.
  5. Some of my results so far. The soul nebula was the first night so don’t be to judgmental.
  6. I see the 1.0x flattener is back in stock has anyone tested this yet on the S/M 90mm edt yet interested to see some results. I’m loving this scope. Actually got me out imaging again. But I must confess sometimes I just go out and stare at the scope. It’s beautiful 🤩
  7. A few more sample images with this excellent scope. Triangulum and pac man
  8. I have to say I am over the moon with this scope. I was in the market for the W/O 91mm until this came along. Is the stellar Mira better than the w/o ? I really would not like to say but with out a doubt it’s not £800 worse. Optically there might be something in it but build quality there is not. The stellar Mira feels so well built. I hate using rotators at the best of times but this was a pleasure. The focuser is solid. It’s on par with the w/o I’ve owned in the past. Have managed to process (very quickly the hour of each SHO I got the other night on the soul nebula and apart from the poor guiding (think because I forgot to put the ir filter on guider camera) and was probably pushing it with 10min subs. I’m very happy so far. The flatter is excellently matched to my eye. Shame I added eggs across the board. But I’ve got some data on M33 over the last few nights and I’m hoping to add to them tonight with out the guiding errors so you can see how capable this scope is. Very pleased I did not go for the w/o and saved the £800. Better in my ars pocket 😉. Might even go for the stellar Lyra 6”rc now I’ve seen the quality of these. And I never thought I would say this but it’s actually more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the w/o. Love the shiny carbon fibre and red accents. Thank you very much FLO 🙏🏼
  9. I find it so much easier to balance when everything is centred. I’ve had all sorts of weird setups over the years trying to keep things central . Especially my William optics 61 mk1 which had no way of mounting the guide scope other than the finder bracket. I always find it better than mounting stuff on the side.
  10. I’m new here on SGL but have been going to kelling Heath for the best part of a decade. For those that have not been your going to love it. Very pleasant environment. Although the skys are not what they used to be. Hope to see some of you there.
  11. Well ain’t that just a thing of beauty. This arrived yesterday. Was waiting so long for more reviews on this but decided I can’t wait any longer. I’m really feeling confident this is going to perform as good as it looks and feels. Have mainly used WO and Altair triplets until now so will be comparing them to this. Looks like it might get some decent first light tonight and might give some ha ago when the moons out. But so far I have high expectations from this. And on top of that it s a work of art sitting on my HEQ5
