My ethos case To be fair there is also a Nagler 31mm, couple of 2" powermates (2x, 4x), a televue 2" diagonal and finally 4 Astronomik 2" visual filters in there too.
Chris
Let me guess that is my old 31t5
-
So what, they still look gorgeous! My "Terminagler" 31T5 is third hand. In you 2x Powermate it really does look like a Panzerfaust
Does the powermate work well with the terminagler? Weight is an issue obviously

Nice collection Mik, a real high performance but not too high budget Those lens pens are awesome, I wouldn't be without mine! Dunno how you find the glass to clean on the 8 and 6mm though
-
Buy buy buy!
-
No problem with that Great job on it
-
That scope looks great inside the case!
-
Lovely collection Tim, that yellow is working very well
-
Lovely set damo, a real inspiration for me to work towards (the set never being finished ya know ). What happened to the antares 1.6 barlow?
In your 200p you get 46x, 92, 120, 150, 184, 240 and 300x if I am right.
and the 12" GSO 57x, 115, 150, 187, 230, 300, 375. A great range of magnifications mate.
Also, whats the middle object at the bottom of your case in the right hand picture?
-
Probably a fine line between your opinion of my bravenesss and my knowing of stupidity
Sometimes the lure of the ethos is just too much! That and the revelation quartz diagonal you recommended is taking an age to get here.
-
I know what you felt like Nick! My ethos slipped out of the 1.25" tal diagonal and fell with a large thud onto (thank the lord) soft wet grass, about a meter to the side was paving slabs!
-
Lovely collection Stu, a really good set of usable ranges. But do you find you 28mm a big too close to the holey hand grenade?
Well said Rob, you summed up a lot of the feelings I have about TV.
Mark you hit the nail on the head about a frac and the TV eyepieces Brings a smile to my face just looking at the set up, let alone through it...!
-
Alan you can borrow my Antares 1.6x barlow anytime you like, just pm me mate. Provided the upcoming forcast isn't 3 weeks of beautifully clear skies
It really does work extremely well. What else is leaving? The 24 Pan or Dob? I presume you meant the 24 Pan. Be careful, the thing will be easily missed if you get rid of it in a hurry! I really love everything about it, especially giving me my lowest power view through my pst.

Mmm looking great Adam,
IF I was to upgrade anyone of my eyepieces it would probably b the same as you and go for the 13E as its my most used EP by a long shot followed closely behind with the 35mm Panoptic.
Thanks I am very jealous of your photographic set up, so that puts us on a more even playing field!
Just about to buy a 550D
The ethos is a great step up from 13t6 nagler if that is what you have. I used to have one but aside from all the other perks of an ethos, the eye relief was MUCH better for me and that is something that really affects how much I use an eyepiece.
So that is why I could justify the price of a second hand ethos, it is always going to be my 'work horse'.
-
My revised set its got a hotech now too
-
the 35mm Panoptic has been used with the 16 inch dob a few times recently.
All hail the holey hand grenade!
-
Yup they do a fantastic job for the money, provided you dont wear glasses and are okay with small eye relief at the high magnifications.
-
For planetary viewing I can nothing but recommend the Baader genuine orthos. They come up cheap second hand (£50) and will not be beaten on sharpness and contrast
-
Jealous much! :)
-
Thanks for the heads up Spaceboy

a living entity? always evolving and changing its appearence
Much like my bank balance

Here's mine. A bit blurred off my iphone
Lovely set with some interesting focal lengths, bet they perform well in that solar max

Wow that is some serious kit you have there!
I have finally got round to getting a case for my kit and spent last nights rainy evening sorting out the foam inserts in the case.
Top row consists of: (L to R)
Baader Hyperion Aspheric 36mm
Televue 24mm Panoptic
Televue 13mm T6 Nagler
Televue 3-6mm Nagler Zoom
Televue 2.5x Powermate
Bottom Row: (L to R)
Baader Hyperion 8-24mm Zoom MkIII
Baader Neodymium filter (2") & Lumicon UHC Filter (1.25")
Head torch
Baader Planetarium Sky Surfer V RDF & Bracket.
Still a bit of space available of the inevitable other purchases I have in mind
I intend upon replacing the 36mm EP for the 35mm Panoptic at some point and also plan on getting the 7mm T6 Nagler as well.
Need to get another case as well to do the same for my imaging kit.....
Looking very nice Mark!
A 7mm Nag on abas right now:
Also I have just made a thread with my eyepieces in the equipment gallery section which gives an idea of the beast that is the 35mm Pan. might want to check it out:
-
Good stuff Revs, the 12mm has some great write ups and I miss the adjust feature, but you can't have it all...
Unless you are Calibos!!! Holey moley dude I don't even know where to begin about that collection. Get it insured and make sure you never hint at where you live!
-
Hey Adam, you got some nice colours going on there in that case.
Regards Steve
Thanks Steve, the colour coded head torches were a complete coincidence, honest
