  1. Really great project!. Now this is Astronomy.. The joy of modding and perfecting the equipment is a huge part of the hobby. I had a Helios 114 Skyhawk on a Eq1 around 25 ish years ago. That scope & mount gave me so much joy. It was the Cat Newt style also with the lens in the focus tube. I managed to mod it by retro fitting the mount head to some sort of survey tripod (I think it was?.. long time ago) This is indeed a very interesting thread. Thanks & well done so far Best Rob
  2. Wow .. loving these Stu!. Glad your enjoying the setup also. Best Rob
  3. Firstly, Welcome to SGL. Is there any chance you could post a picture please?. I think its the two screw type of finder. So there will be an optical option I'm sure. Rob
  4. Would only go as far as 10" TBH...
  5. Thanks to John there for his reply on the OO quality & range details . Personally I I love a Newtonian scope on a GEM. Granted I am 6ft 3in tall, which helps. The main issue at the time was the GP could not cope with the weight and length of that scope. If only I had a HEQ5 back then. Some pics added. And I'm no imager! My knowledge of the VX range is very limited to be fair.. Best Rob
  6. Selling my Orion Optics SPX 200 f6 Newtonian. My god the mirror in that scope was unreal!. viewing Jupiter with near true colour, and red ish great red spot and watching moon transits is something I'll never forget. Only sold it as I could not afford a HEQ5 (which it need really as wobbly on the GP). miss it badly Rob
  7. I have a KSON MRF finder (red) with mount & base. All in great condition. Allows a change from dot to cross, or circle with cross points in red. It has a screen protector also. £26 includes delivery. Paypal with fees covered pls. thanks
  8. Very nice indeed. All's well, that ends well. Enjoy it!
  9. After much thought I'm going to withdraw from sale. I'll regret parting with it I know. Other items will follow Thanks to those that that showed interest Mods please remove. thanks Rob
  10. Yes. Still up for grabs. Regards Rob
  11. It does indeed. please see the pic's above. Regards Rob
