  2. Thanks for that.....just installed it in PI. I am sure you have seen this....sent out today.....
  3. M104 - the Sombrero Galaxy from Pier1 @Roboscopes in Spain (250mm F6.8 Dall-Kirkham, ASI 294MM Pro, 10 Micron GM1000 with integrated OAG) All subs 120 sec 50 x blue, 57 x green, 84 x red 6.4 hrs total integration time. Processed in Pixinsight. Two slightly different treatments cropped from the full frame.
  4. Ha-ha! Less nerdy (at least no one is as nerdy as I am - 0% scored the same )
  5. Works without errors for me on a Windows 11 pc, although gradient removal output seems noisier than previous version. Need to test on a few more images.
  6. I knew I was a nerd but not how much, lol 😂
  7. I believe all the electronic stuff for the mount is in the handset… therefore you have to plug the air into the handset. But I’m pretty sure the handset isn’t feeding the Air any info. For example, the Air handles meridian flips perfectly, so it clearly knows where the scope is pointing relative to the ground. I’ll test @vlaiv theory about skipped steps first. If that doesn’t work I will relent and set the handset. 😃
  8. I am overcome with awe at your nerdyness @Nigella Bryant.
  9. By PhotoShop, merge mode additive. A very solid connection comprised of several layers. They don’t??? 🫣
  10. Hi, This has worked really well, my only problem came with trying to use an older Baader filter that was too deep in the body but all the modern 2 inch filters I’ve tried fit okay. Guiding I thought might present problems with NB filters (6nm) is my narrowest at present. Even then with the duo I have plenty of stars to guide with. At least I haven’t imaged anywhere that’s not given me guide stars. NB filters may need longer exposures for guiding that may be a problem with harmonic drive mounts. I have an iOptron HEM27 which is okay with 2 second guide subs but prefers under 1 second. I machined my filter holders in ali but they could be printed easily enough. Good luck with the build. Clear skies Francis
  11. OK, not that Nerdy in my case, well according to a single fun quiz anyhow. I will now go and Obsess on my own and not interact with others to grow my Nerdyness 😉
  12. For some reason, I cannot see the image that pipnina posted anymore. However, I want to ask a question. It appears to me that this mount slewed itself into that position. Does anyone see how it could have tracked its way down there? Don
  13. The handset is the "brain" of ioptron mounts. The air does the controlling but in hand with the information from the mount hand controller. As far as I know you can't use ioptron mounts without the hand controller when using an air so it must be needed for something.
  14. Some lovely close ups of the sunspots active at the moment, of which there’s many Taken through a WO GT81, with Baader 3.8 film and 7nm Continuum filter. Camera: Player One Mars M (290)

  16. Hey everyone! I made my first 2 scripts in PixInsight and am pretty excited to share the NB to RGB Stars Combination Script. I am not a coder and knew this would be a bit of a steep curve, but finally sat down and created a script to take your NB stars only images and combine them into a beautiful RGB stars image. The script is really intuitive. You add your linear Ha stars image, OIII stars image, and optionally SII stars image. There is also an option to give the image a Star Stretch exactly like my first Star Stretch script. Never waste those precious hours under the night sky getting RGB stars data and spend every second getting that NB data!! Link to videos about the scripts: https://youtu.be/EZKAF7ItJYA https://youtu.be/8_Jswk_wE0A Repository Link to add in PixInsight: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/setiastro/pixinsight-updates/main/ Link to my site to get the scripts manually: https://www.setiastro.com/pjsr-scripts Leave any comments or suggestions!
  17. Today
  18. original pic. i do look happy as steve said
  19. John, thank you so very much. This is extremely helpful. I have ALOT to learn and my gear gets here on Monday. I have a ASI533MC and am pairing it with a Redcat 71 WIFD ASIair Plus and AM5. Your information most definitely helps. Im currently trying to research how long my sub exposures need to be considering I’m in a Bortle 8 and using OSC. This, along with many other things - but you now scratched one concern off my list so thank you again!
  20. hi Alan, if you go back a few pages it was all wooden. made a new base out of alloy . it is just sited in there, think there is some pics on here, its a barn shed. just wheel it out and observe. mag 21.5 skys here
