Martyn_Bannister 10 Posted July 3, 2011 Finally got my tracking mount working. This is now mounted on the ultra cheap surveying tripod. I am still getting to grips with DSS and so this is by no way the best of the pictures I took at 2am this morning (oh my aching head!)This one stacked from 10 x 4 minute shots using a Tamron Twin-Tele 135mm manual focus lens at f4 and ISO 400 on my Canon 5D Mk1 full frame classic.Spot the double star!Other attempts at stacking in my album. Boy, still got a lot to learn :) Link to comment
Keiran 262 Posted July 5, 2011 Very nice Martyn, Only probe i can see you having is the lack of flatness at the edges, but still a great attempt... looking forward to more Link to comment
Martyn_Bannister 10 Posted July 5, 2011 Hi Keiran, thanks for the encouragement :)I have put some more in my album. Just not getting the results I am expecting though. Don't know if it's my original pictures, or my DSS processing, but can't seem to get anywhere near what other people seem to be able to get.I suspect I am using too long exposures/too high ISO, but don't know for sure :) Link to comment
Keiran 262 Posted July 5, 2011 Setting seem fine to me, you could even up the ISO to 800... I think it is probably all down to processing, but this one seems brilliant to me Link to comment
Martyn_Bannister 10 Posted July 6, 2011 Yeah, I wasn't sure what settings to use, too chuffed to actually have a working mount to actually care :) At least it has a hint of colour about it. Link to comment
